My apologies for the delay in making these plans public. Please let me know what you think.

TOKYO

1. VERY IMPORTANT: During the Preturn, wake up fortified Elite knight and one fortified Veteran knight. Send them due west to the mountain(see attached map). After that, send them along the gray route. The number illustrates their position at the end of the turn.

2. From Kyoto, send Elite swordsman and Veteran swordsman along purple route.

3. Attack on Turn 4.

NARA

1. From Kyoto, send the army along the blue route.

2. Send Veteran knights southeast of Kyoto along red route.

3. Once they reach the mountain on turn 2, they should survey the area for Japanese defense. They can take the time to eliminate some of these units while they wait for the army.

4. If routes are followed unhindered, knights can attack on turn 4. Make sure that they are on same side of the river as Nara.

5. Army can join in on turn 5 from across the river if chances for victory without much damage are in our favor. Otherwise cross the river and attack on turn 6. Knights should be attacking on every turn from 4-6, as their health allows.

NOVGOROD

1. From Ise, send two Elite swords along red route.

2. Send wounded swordsman just south of Ise into the town and fortify.

3. Send Elite horseman from Ise along red route on turn 2.

4. ATTACK Novgorod on turn 4.

OTHER INSTRUCTIONS

1. Send the two knights from Kells through Rhineland. Lets get at least 5-6 tiles beyond our borders.

2. Send the knight from New Falcon's Nest through Rhineland.

3. We should rush the pike in Plexenburg(44g) and send Plexenburg's horseman to put its foot down in Kyoto once our troops leave for assignment.

4. Someone please tell me if there are any more Bab or Russian settlers near Ibizia. I didn't see them anywhere. If they are gone, send three horses stationed south of Ibizia to Bremershaven for upgrade to knight. Then send them through Padmativa to meet up with our allies against Persia.

5. I know there is a horseman guarding Site A for an arriving settler but perhaps it should head east one square to spy on the Japanese galley heading for Satsuma, just to see if any units are dropped off.

6. The horseman near New PDX should head south to see if it can avert Chinese settling plans near site "P". Probably won't help but let's try it.

Looks good Donovan, just try not to spread the forces too thin.

ONWARD! To Tokyo! :D

I agree with taking Tokyo. Perhaps we can slice through Tokyo and Nara, and see if we can get the other cities through a peace treaty. Remember, India is in the area, and may take some cities.

It does look good, DZ. Good detail.

The progress seems good so far, as we just got a GL! :D

Well now we definately want Tokyo, Shimonoseki, Novgorod, and Satsuma. Personally I would like to have Kagoshima and Nara also. We need to reduce their Cultural threat on our Western cities.

I see President Eklektikos is thinking about taking out the Aztec Settler along with its Spearman guard. I think this is an excellent idea and that we should also send the Swordsman in Serenity and the Horsemen or Knights in the area to take out Xochicalco. Let's end the Aztec nusiance.

In the Great Leader thread, I have proposed sending the new GL to Bremershaven, which will take 4 turns. If we adopt this plan, it will take that time plus an extra turn to be able to achieve a new GL. Let's regroup and concentrate our next attack in a manner that will not endanger our weary troops.

I am currently drawing up battle plans for our continued assault on Japan. However, my campaign relies greatly on our decisions regarding placement of our new Great Leader. Here is a link to my post in the Richthoffen discussion which states my reasoning for using him to rush the Forbidden Palace in Kyoto. It will allow us to fully realize the objectives of this campaign as well as provide us immediate production benefits, both militarily and culturally, in an unstable region. I would also appreciate support from anyone who believes in this plan should it go to the polls as I am at odds with some of the greatest Fanatikan minds on this one.

Please expect detailed battle plans from the Military Office once this matter is resolved.

As I've posted in eyrei's thread, Kells would be a better FP location. Also, I'm against the use of Richthoffen for rushing a petty small wonder.

Otherwise, the actual battle plans look good.

Well, the Great(and small) Wonder Debates continue to rage, but here are my military plans during this time of indecision:

1. Send veteran knight west of Osaka to take out Aztec settler/spear. Both knights then head for Nara. They should protect workers we get from captured settler until we get peace w/Japan.
2. 2 veteran knights east of Octivinium should head back toward Xochicalco.
3. Upgrade horsemen NE of New Falcon's Nest in Octivinium, not NFN. They will cover more ground to Xochicalco before ending turn on upgrade.
4. Send knight NE of Sturmandrang to keep tabs on Chinese settler.
5. Do not send elite units into battle until Richthoffen has build wonder.
6. In the preturn---move army on way to Tokyo NE to head off russian advancement.
7. Tokyo: Army, sword and 2 knights to meet on hill south of Tokyo, fortify and strike on turn wonder is built(or turn after). Take out any approaching units
8. novgorod units--fortify and stike city on turn wonder is built(or turn after). Take out any approaching units
9. If FP is chosen, Kyoto should start knight production(wheteher FP is in that city or not.) ;)
10. Should we take Nara, sue for peace to get all cities but capital(should be kagoshima). Clear this with eyrei....

11. We should start upgrading our spears to pikes. This should be done by a sending pikeman from inland city to Padmativa and having Padmativa's spear head to nearest barracks for upgrade. Repeat process with Palanthus, Huntington and so on....upgrade our coastal garrisons first, then borders, and work inland. It doesn't have to be one at a time. Send any that won't cause unrest or leave a city poorly defended.

Let me know what you think....these are my plans to this point. I will check on this later for feedback and hopefully provide maps. Kinda pressed for time this weekend though.....

Could the military department arrange an escort for the settler soon to be completed in Padmativa? I would not like to lessen the city's current garrison, considering the current international threat.

Very well done (to coin a phrase...). I like it from begining to to end. Good to see detailed, step by step planning back in the Military threads.

@Octavian - let me look into that. I probably wouldn't want to send that settler out until I had some knights scout the area past the site for Persian activity.

This plan gains the aproval from the former Military Leader.
