Alloway, south of Ayr, is the birthplace of Robert Burns. Near the cottage in which he was born stand a monument and a museum dedicated to him.

I wouldn't say it really registers as important enough for a Civilization. I'm proud of my country, so if I haven't heard of it... What's it's population, and when was it founded?

It's famous because it is in Tam O'Shanter, "by Alloway's auld, haunted kirk"
