These are the questions for the executive branch (President, Cabinet). All candidates are asked to post their answers to the following questions. Please, one post per person, and no discussion.

We have over 50 cities, and it's only the industrial age. How comfortable are you with micromanaging workers and cities (for unhappiness)? What is your experience with micromanaging?

I believe the turn chats are effective as they currently are, as long as a substantial number of citizens and cabinet members are present IE: at least 4 cabinet members or a representative whose wishes reflect those of the Department, and of course, the citizens. I do however think that forum dicusiion is more important then spot votes, as there are chat regulars who are always present, who may skew the vote.

In the last demogame, I was one of the original members of the game, I finished second place in the very first election in ALL the demogamnes, the election for province 1, which I lost (proudly) to a great and noble person (Skilord). I was chat representative for foreign affairs for 2 terms in the first demogame, as well as 1 term as deput foreign affairs advisor. Additionally, I wrote the original draft of the thread "What is the demogame" and served as senior Councilmember in the first demogame for 1 term. In the first demogame I named a city (Callisto) and if another opportunity should arise, I would name the city Sycorax.

Indeed I am, as having played the demogame before the constituion was written, I have knowledge of the intention of the laws and how they were envisioned to function.

Absolutely, always.

Not a problem, as I have 2 courses next semester which will allow me ample time to read the forums and maintain my 85% average.

I am older I cant answer this question as my opponent intends to vote for me.

They are in need of a few tweaks, for example, I wish to ament the punishments for those who violate the code of standards, I find a warning or no-warning to be a failure to enforce the rules of the CoS effectively.

Someone who knows what he or she is doing, Someone who does not have an ego which will conflict with the decisions of the people. Someone who is flexable enough to accept the fact that the person will not always get his way. I am proud to say I have all these traits.

I would prefer someone whose opinions are completely opposote fo mine, a sober second thought is the most effective tool in the decision making process.

trade is what Im best at

I am also running for Judge Advocate, I have yet to formalize a decision on which I may take.

I would prefer a space race victory, however as we are a warlike people, I will settle for conquest or domination.

Domestic Leader

Turn chats are the easiest way to play the game in a step by step process. I think that the turn chat may stay as it is right now. The citizens have a right to see the government operate.

If you are given the chance to name a city, what would you name it?

I have held this position twice. I would name the city Jedina, after the home town of the Lord Master of the Jedi Knights, me.

I am quite familiar with them. If I am unsure on something, I would simply look it up.

Of course.

I would choose option A, because in life, their our priorities, and knowledge and education is priority.

My trust is always put completely into the citizen's hands, and I have always been honest with them.

They need some tweaks, like in which the Military leader can alter militaric builds.

We are closeing in on defeat, because we aren't keeping ourselves up to pace. We need to bounce back on track.

My position may very well change the tide for Fanatika, because the Domestic Leader decides what is made, spent, and saved.

I will work on building Railroads, so the military may have an easier time getting places. It also gives nice bonuses to food and shields. Techs are also vital in pushing ourselves into the lead.

The economy is most important, because without an economy, then infrastructure and military cannot be supported. Infrastructure cannot be rushed and military cannot be upgraded.

Usually Monarch.

Yes, I feel at ease with it. I don't know why I never really played it before.

What makes a good Department Leader?

I always push for something to get done, even hen people don't want to talk about it.
Who would you rather have as a deputy, someone you knew and got along with, but who was not qualified, or someone that you did not work well with, but was very good at the job?

I would rather have someone that would be better at the job. Getting the job is most important, not sharing an office with a friend.
Why are you running for the department you are running for?

I need to get back into the flow of the demogame. I am having withdrawals, too.
Are you running for 2 positions? If so, which ones? If you win both positions, which would you take?

I am runnig for North Province. I will take this position over the position of North Province.
What victory would you prefer?

Domination, but really I would go with anything that we can get our hands on.
Do you support pop rushing? (using population to rush improvements)

No, we cannot drain the pop and have people being mad at us. This is why we need that stable economy.
What is the most important tech in the industrial age?

Industialization
Do you believe Fanatika should continue its path of war, or should it change to an age of building?

We should take a few more cities to show who is boss, then we should develop our nation.
How do you plan to involve the citizens in your decision making process?

I would ask for their opinion on every major decision that needs to be made.

I would support any war the populace feels they need to have, but I would rather have peace for a least a small while.

Turnchats are an integral part of the demogame. It gives further input from anyone attending.

In DG1, I've been VP in term 3, and president in terms 4 and 5. In DG2, I was the first president. I've already named the first city in the game, Bavaria, and named a second in a naming contest (The Highlands).

I have experience being the DP, and I listen to the voice of the people.

It can use a few tweaks here and there, especially the turn chat rules, and closing some loopholes.

Not that I know of (none extended). However there might be a software testing project coming up later in the month (but I don't think it should affect the demogame).

At emperor level, always dangling. One false move on this difficulty level can put you out of comission.

Accurately reporting the in-game actions for citizen input, and making sure our infrastructure is sound enough to defend or attack.

This was my question.

I intend to start a railroading project to connect our core cities and extend to our borders. This is the first priority. We will also need growth to compete with our rivals.

Infrastructure is at the base of an economy. If you have a town and a hill in the tundra that is mined and roaded, and the town is already using 2 tundra/hills, you've wasted gold and production. If you have extra worked tiles on bonus grasslands, the commerce benefit is lost without roads.

I'm now playing regent and monarch games, but I can hold my own on emperor games.

Yes, as 95% of the actions come from citizen input. The other 5% is worker actions that have no instructions.

Someone who listens to the people, and gives accurate feedback from the game.

Someone I can get along with. That person can still be taught the tricks of the trade. Discontent can breed chaos in this demogame.

Because, I want to aid the infrastructure of the game as we go through the indurstrial age. I feel this is a critical make-or-break point.

No, I can only run for 1.

Being a builder, I like culture, space or diplo. But, at this rate, it looks like it's either domination or space race.

I would take this to also include the draft. Only in extreme situations should we even consider it, for example: the city is in danger of being captured.

There's a great number of them, atleast steam power, replacable parts, and motorized trasportation. Of the three, I would said rails, as it allows us to get troops to trouble spots quicker, and boosts our production/growth.

Yes. Mine would be on Wednesday/Saturday (Tuesdays are fine too). Wednesday at around 7:00pm EST, and Saturday at around noon EST. (I like the early Saturday chats)

Again, another one of my questions.

After being in a number of succession games with the Civ3 greats, I feel quite comfortable. Due to the lenghty turn chat times, I may start build queues an hour before the scheduled chat, as was done late last game.

Turn chats have good and bad points. The good points outweigh the bad if the chats have many council members present. I would continue turn chats and try to schedule them so that as many departments as possible would be represented at them.

What qualifications and experience do you have for the position you are running for?

I've been playing the demogames since term 1 of DG1. I've been everything from a chat rep to president. I see the president as more than the DP. The President is the one who should take the foremost position when it comes to moulding a consensus among our citizens regarding the overall policies of Fanatika.

If you are given the chance to name a city, what would you name it?

I've already named Bremershaven.

Are you familliar with all of our laws?

Yes I am. I took part in many of the discussions that went into our laws so I am also quite familiar with the intent behind them.

Do you abide by them?

I do as best I can though I am not afraid to challenge a bad law.

They should vote for me if they think I'm the best candidate.

They certainly are not fine as they are but I fear we do not have the time nor inclination to give them a major overhaul. We cetainly don't seem to have the energy to start writing rules from scratch and I think scrapping them now would be dangerous. We should just try fixing the most glaring weaknesses in the Three Books.

Heck no!

I wouldn't say we're dangling on the edge but we do seem to want to linger near the edge of the cliff more than we should. In this coming term we need to nail down once and for all which victory we are seeking. If we do not set a goal soon and devote all our energy to it we do risk defeat.

What do you think the importance of your position is in the grand scheme of Fanatika?

I'm not sure what this question means. My personal position in the grand scheme has been as a watchdog keeping our government focused on the rules. My position as president in the grand scheme would be to forge a consensus among the citizens as to which direction (victory type) we should be heading towards.

I think railroads are the key to the industrial age. They can increase either food or shield production in a give tile and they also provide a transportation network that can aid immensely in the defense of a country. I was president of Phoenatica during the formative years of the railroads and I think one of my best achievements was the quick construction of a rail network. Fanatika needs the same thing.

They are all important and the proper balance between the three must be found. This balance will also depend on our overall goals. If we choose a domination victory then the military must take precedence though we will of course need an economy and the infrastructure to support our military. If we decide we want a histograph victory the edge would be to infrastructure in order to allow our cities to grow and our people to be happy. We would still need an economy to support it all and a military that is strong enough to keep us from getting attacked all the time.

What difficulty level do you normally play the Civilization 3 game at?

I play at all levels since I play the GOTMs.

If not Emperor or higher, do you feel comfortable playing at an Emperor level in this game?

The two lower levels are too easy for me. Monarch is probably my level. I generally get beat by the AI at emperor and diety. I would remind everyone that we are not electing a president to play the game for us. The president is guided by the executive departments and the governors and the citizens. Because of this I am quite comfortable playing this game on emperor level.

Do you have a working Civilization 3 game patched to version 1.29?

Yes I do.

What victory would you prefer?

In this game I'm leaning towards domination. Normally I prefer building great civilizations with perfect cities.

No!

What is the most important tech in the industrial age?

For Fanatika I think it will be replaceable parts.

Do you believe Fanatika should continue its path of war, or should it change to an age of building?

I think we must continue our warlike ways though there will come a point soon when we must build. Once our neighbors all have infantry defending their cities we should build until we get Panzers.

How do you plan to involve the citizens in your decision making process?

The first thing would be to initiate a discussion about our victory goal. Once that is pinned down we'd need discussions about how to acheive that goal. I would initaite and lead general discussions and post information polls in the hope that our leaders and governors would pay attention to them and formulate their policies accordingly.

Do you support war with any nations within the near future? If so, what nations?

Once the current wars are concluded we'd ahve to look around. Perhaps Russia. It all depends on who is defending their cities with infantry since we do not have the means to take cities so defended.

Are you for holding chats and when do you plan to hold them?

I'm inclined towards holding Saturday afternoon chats as well as 7 pm chats during one or two weekdays. (Eastern US times.) I would do preturn stuff well ahead of time in an effort to streamline the chats and make them more enjoyable for all.

I'm currently a governor and micromanage the cities in my province everytime I post turn chat instructions. With the help of the governors micromanaging cities should be bearable. Having built Phoenatica's rail network and readied PDX and other cities for inductrial production I am very comfortable managing large groups of workers.

Turn chats are a great way for the citizenry to take part in the progress of the game. I believe they should continue as/is.

What qualifications and experience do you have for the position you are running for?
If you are given the chance to name a city, what would you name it?

I have already named Androbius.

For the most part; resolving any grey areas is just a click away.

I have a pretty good grasp of what our goals should be in the Industrial Age and have the ideas and determination to bring those goals to light.

A few tweaks is all, but they are pretty big tweaks.

No victory for us is sealed at this point as we still have much work to do. The actions we take this term will better determine the answer to this question.

What do you think the importance of your position is in the grand scheme of Fanatika?

Importance of Domestic Leader? Or of myself personally? I believe the role of Domestic Leader takes the spotlight for the first half of the Industrial Age, as it plays a big part in laying the groundwork for life after Panzers. This includes an expansive rail system, proper mining for factories and intensive irrigation efforts to make hospitals a worthwhile expense.

What makes a good Department Leader?

One that is not afraid to lead, not afraid to propose ideas and not afraid to let others take the glory for their ideas. A good leader will also listen to the public and modify his proposals if necessary.

Who would you rather have as a deputy, someone you knew and got along with, but who was not qualified, or someone that you did not work well with, but was very good at the job?

Someone that knew what they were doing.

Why are you running for the department you are running for?

(Domestic)As a builder, the Industrial Age is my favorite era. I also feel that micromanagement at this stage is my strong point, so I can make sure workers are getting utilized correctly.

(Military) 3's a charm? Actually, I would like to at least stay on hand as deputy here to ensure that Domestic and Military work together.

Are you running for 2 positions? If so, which ones? If you win both positions, which would you take?

I am running for both Domestic Leader and Military Leader. In the unlikely event that I win both, I would choose to become Domestic Leader.

What victory would you prefer?

I am liking Histograph or Space Race at this point, only so we can start playing the role of the "good guys" that won't bow to threats from other nations. We have staked most of our claim; let us now watch it grow and defend it with honor from any nation mindless enough to think they can take it from us.

I am against any measure that leads to Fanatikan loss of life, including starvation.

What is the most important tech in the industrial age?

There are so many in this age. Since I find Hoover Dam to be one of the greatest wonders in Civ3, I would say Electronics. I am also a fan of Steam Power, Replacable Parts and of course, Motorized Transportation.

Do you believe Fanatika should continue its path of war, or should it change to an age of building?

The parity of our cavalry(offense=6) and the riflemen(defense=6) of other nations makes continued war a bad idea at this time. The early Industrial Age should be a time of building, especially since we have some catching up to do. We should focus our efforts on building until we get Panzers.

How do you plan to involve the citizens in your decision making process?

Any major discussion will go to the Citizen's Forum, then if controversial to the polls. However, that is all I can do. It is up to the citizenry to make the effort to join the discussion and be heard. Several times this term, I have opened up discussions that received minimal participation, only to have them swept under the rug or ambushed in the more popular Polls Forum by people seeing the issue there for the first time. I will involve the citizens as much as they care to be involved.

Do you support war with any nations within the near future? If so, what nations?

Absolutely not. We should finish out our alliances against Babylon and India, then try to hold onto peace. I would recommend establishing a perimeter defense of our country at all borders as well as a few naval scouts in the form of ironclads when available. This way we can be ready for any civ that is foolish enough to declare war on us.

I was the Term 4 Science Leader and the Term 3 and 5 Science Deputy.

Are you familliar with all of our laws?

Yes, I am familiar with the laws.

Well, I dont think I would fail a math test, but if I did, I would study harder.

Explain in one sentence why the citizens should vote for you instead of your opponents.

I am a hard working person who has been science leader, and I will try to make Fanatika the greatest Science nation in the world!

I believe they need a few tweaks, but should not be completly overhauled or started anew.

I do not have any leaves of absence planned.

Do you believe Fanatika is on the road to victory, or are we dangling on the edge of defeat?

I believe both. We are ahead histographically, but we are behind in techs which will hurt us in the future because we will be weaker. I think that if I get together with the trade department, we could work something out the get us back on track.

What do you think the importance of your position is in the grand scheme of Fanatika?

The science department is needed to help us get the units needed to help defend us against the enemy and to fight against them.

I will try to get us the nesecerry techs to compete with the enemy.

What difficulty level do you normally play the Civilization 3 game at?

I normally play at monarch or lower, but do feel comfortable playing at emperor.

Yes, I do have a Civ 3 game patched to 1.29.

What makes a good Department Leader?

Someone who doesn't only work in his own department, but tries to work throughout the whole game to make Fanatika great.

Who would you rather have as a deputy, someone you knew and got along with, but who was not qualified, or someone that you did not work well with, but was very good at the job?

I would rather have the more qualified person who I didnt get along with because even thought I wouldnt like them too well, they would help Fanatikas Science department grow. Also, if real life did get in the way of the demogame, the deputy would be able to take over with good experience.

Because I want to help Fanatika grow to be the best Science department in the world.

I am not running for 2 positions, but if I was I would go for the Science one.

I prefer Spaceship or Culture.

I would only support this if it was absolutely needed. But we are using a gov that pays to rush buildings, I do support that.

What is the most important tech in the industrial age?

Probably the one that gets us panzers. Mobilized Transportation I think.

How do you plan to involve the citizens in your decision making process?

They will get to choose the techs that we research next.

Do you support war with any nations within the near future? If so, what nations?

I think that since we are already at war with 2 civs, we should not start any wars for a while, but trying to get allies for the wars we are already at, but when we do start a war, I think it should be with America.

I have no problem with the current way we do our Turn Chats, I belive they have been refined enough.

Well, I am the interim culture minister and have been governor for way too many provinces to name.

I have already named a city, if I get another chance I guess Foundation would be cool.

Option "A", as many have put it, this is just a game. My future is far more important than this game.

As of now, I have no opponents. But I think I am very experianced and dedicated.

A few tweaks, mainly, I just want people to take the rules so seriously, this is just a game and when we get too rules anal, this game gets less and less fun.

No, but I promise to tell you if anything comes up.

I belive our situation was precarious for a little while, but now we are doing okay.

I belive that my role is to be the best leader I can be while slowly helping to mold Fanatika.

I think I could eventually train the one weaker at the job to have the best of both realms.

I am both the interim culture leader and I have always been interested in culture.

Culture, obviously. But in our current situation, Domination.

I would suggest to the Govenors to build factories, since I am running for FA, I would help the Trade and Science Department get the techs and Lux they need

IMO, Economy and Infrastructure are more important since it helps with the military build up and helps our Science rate

Well, I personally enjoy attending the turn chats but I do not think they are a vital part of the demogame and have in the past voted in favour of making them optional. Their mandatory status often serves to narrow the pool of potential presidents to those who are able to attend them.
What qualifications and experience do you have for the position you are running for?

I have 10 terms worth of demogame experience. 9 of these have been spent in government positions and during all of this time I have been actively involved in discussion of the issues of the day. During the course of my term as War Minister I strove with success to achieve cooperation with the other council departments over the proposals I made, and my tenure as Public Defender has left me with detailed knowledge of demogame law.
As president I committed myself to the goal of conclusively establishing the will of the people regarding our mid to long term aims, and encouraged the individual departments to cooperate in formulating the plans and policies which would allow us to achieve those aims. This included presiding over our successes in the Aztec & Japanese wars.
Having served as Governor, Public Defender, Military Leader, Domestic Leader and President gives me a breadth of Demogame experience that few citizens can rival.
If you are given the chance to name a city, what would you name it?

I have already named a city - the much reviled Eklektochtitlan

Very much so. One and a half terms as Public Defender has that effect on you.

Yes, I do. I take great care to.

If RL and the Demogame become incompatible then I will obviously pursue my RL goals. I do not anticpate this happening in the coming term, however.

I would hope that my past performance as Military Leader and two terms as President in wartime, as well as my contributions to discussion of military strategy as a mere citizen will speak for themselves.

They could certainly do with some adjustments, but the overall structure is sound and should be kept.

It's still too early to say which way the game will go. Neither victory or defeat are assured, and both are still possible. We will, however, need to be very careful if we are to avoid the latter.

Assuming that the question refers to the position for which I am running, I would say that the position of Military Leader is extremely important within a warlike nation such as our own. The success or failure of the nation can rest on the ability of the ML to develop an effective strategy for each campaign, from both his or her own strategic thinking and the input of the citizenry.

While the Military Leader is not in a position to aid directly in this endevour, I would ensure that my requests for new units to meet immediate military aims take account of the need for workers and certain improvements required to increase our future ability to produce.

All three are important, and indeed complimentary. Without decent infrastructure and a strong economy our military will be small and inefficient. Without a strong military we cannot hope to defend that infrastructure against our enemies. With the demise of our infrastructure, the economy will suffer heavily. To select one as being significantly more important would misrepresent my thinking on the issue.

Enthusiasm for the work of their department and for open discussion & polling of actions to be taken in the performance of that work. It is also important that Department Leaders be willing to cooperate with each other in order to further the goals of the nation.
Who would you rather have as a deputy, someone you knew and got along with, but who was not qualified, or someone that you did not work well with, but was very good at the job?

I'd always prefer a talented deputy, regardless of how well we got on. The people should have good government, not a mutual appreciation society.

Because I believe that as Military Leader I will be best positioned to serve Fanatika at this time.

What victory would you prefer?

Conquest or Domination are my prefered victory conditions for this game, although a Space victory is alway highly satisfactory as well. That said, I'll happily take whatever we can get.

I would support pop rushing in any case where the benefits of doing so will outweigh the costs. However since I do not anticipate a switch to Communism, this likely something of an academic question.
What is the most important tech in the industrial age?

Replacable Parts is a strong contender, as the arrival of Artillery and infantry makes offensive warfare against well garrisoned cities far more effective and efficient than was previous possible.

That said, the industrial era is packed full of technologies which revolutionise various aspects of the game - so Replacable Parts is more "first among equals" than a real stand-out tech.
Do you believe Fanatika should continue its path of war, or should it change to an age of building?

I firmly believe that we should continue to make war at any time that we are able to support it. Once we have a large enough standing military we will be able to build on the other aspects of the game without ceasing our aggressive foreign policy.
How do you plan to involve the citizens in your decision making process?

Via extensive discussion of the strategy and tactics to be employed during individual campaigns, followed by polling where larger strategic issues are concerned.

I am actively in favour of a limited war against russia in order to bring the FP zone fully under Fanatikan control. Following that I would like us to undertake the full-scale conquest of America.

Executive Debates: Term 6 (Military Leader)

A two part question, answer briefly please: How do you feel about turn-chats and is your position that they should continue as is, or do you favor the concept of private/closed door turn sessions by the DP?

I very much prefer the turn chats; they allow citizens to communicate directly with each other and the leadership while the game is being played out, and I personally would feel cut off from the game if they were not being held.

What qualifications and experience do you have for the position you are running for?

I am a Civ veteran of many years of experiences, at all levels of play, and have also played many other historical and strategic paper and miniatures games. My educational background is in history, specifically in military history, which gives me a different real world perspective on the game to go with my gaming experience.

If you are given the chance to name a city, what would you name it?

I prefer the more poetic names. My proposition for the new Indian province is Waldensee, which is near-German for Wood Lake.

I have been studying them since joining the game a month ago and feel confident I have picked up the basic, day to day rules.

Always. Why play the game if you are not going to play by the rules?

As I am well out of school, I can only say that I will be quite careful to integrate the time I spend on the game with time spent in rebuilding my kitchen.

I will provide a fresh, sophisticated approach to military affairs, using combined arms tactics, specific plans for provincial and national defense, and careful judgements of how much blood, time, and resources are expended on war.

I have been pleasantly surprised over the past few weeks over how complete and workable they are. Very much impressed, in fact.

None.

I think Fanatika is in an excellent strategic position to win the game, facing very little in the way of serious military threats. However, victory is going to be dependent on acquiring technology and developing our infrastructure, and there will little margin for error in the decisions we make in those pursuits.

What do you think the importance of your position is in the grand scheme of Fanatika?

Although I am a builder by instinct and experience, I recognize that a victory at Emperor level is dependent on a well-planned and executed defense policy. As military leader, I would plan defense policy so as to improve our strategic position at a minimum cost in time and resources. If we cannot do that efficiently, military affairs will be a drag on the rest of the governments policies.

The industrial age is upon us. How will you aid in the industrialization efforts? (workers, build queues, techs, trades etc.)

As military leader, I would weigh carefully the amount of resources going into the armed forces so the maximum effort can be make towards the creation of a national rail network and industrial plant.

All three have to be integrated to win a game at this level. Development needs to proceed at a rather fierce pace and neglect in any part of the game will cripple you.

King, occasionally at Emperor. Typically, I am confident of winning at either level as long as my starting position is not too bizarre.

I consider it an interesting challenge.

What makes a good Department Leader?

A clear vision of the strategic situation and that term applies to other departments than the military; the ability to create solutions, advocate them, and apply them calmly and rationally; the willingness to negotiate with other citizens without rancor.

Who would you rather have as a deputy, someone you knew and got along with, but who was not qualified, or someone that you did not work well with, but was very good at the job?

I make it a point to get along with everyone, but I get along better with people who know what he or she are doing.

Why are you running for the department you are running for? Are you running for 2 positions? If so, which ones? If you win both positions, which would you take?

I am only running for one position, Military Leader, as it seems the best way my experience can be brought to bear towards victory in the game.

What victory would you prefer?

Cultural or diplomatic, but that is unlikely in this setting. Traditionally, I take what the game gives me.

No. There are better ways to get the job done, and pop rushing abuses the rules. A steadier flow of production is easier to understand, more predictable, and less nuisance to administrate.

What is the most important tech in the industrial age?

There are many that are vital, but steam and railroads open the door to all the others, particularly for a continental power.

Do you believe Fanatika should continue its path of war, or should it change to an age of building?

We definitely need an age of building. If we fail to convert to democracy and work on our infrastructure, we will fall hopelessly behind.

How do you plan to involve the citizens in your decision making process?

As a relative newcomer to the government, I would handle decisions in public, take sound advice when it is given, and be confident that I can persuade the citizens to support me when I have created sound policy.

We should avoid war entirely for the near future, save as some easy opportunity should arise. Their will be no more hope for quick wars until we create motorized forces, and any long conflict will hinder our development.

I love the turn chat! They should, of course, continue as-is. They really let Fanatikans get to know each other.

What qualifications and experience do you have for the position you are running for?

I've been Vice President for Four terms, a governor for two of those terms, Chief Justice in Term 1. In the previous democracy game, I was trade leader. Also, I've been president of the Civ2 Democracy Game.

If you are given the chance to name a city, what would you name it?

Already named it, Octavinium.

Though donsig may claim otherwise, yes I am.

Do you abide by them?

Again, yes. Or at least, I feel I do.

I'm a good leader with lots of previous experience being on heart beat away from the presidency, and will lead Fanatika into a new age of glory!

A few tweeks are always needed. By no means should we scrap our highly developed system of laws.

We are at a crossroads. Though our path leads to victory and greatness, the time for us to secure that great future is now. We must act quickly, and correctly, to ensure victory.

Other than actually playing the game, it is the President's responsibility to lead Fanatika, to nudge her people along the correct path.

The President is given the power to control the workforce of Fanatika. I would make sure these little guys scurry around to the best places to boost productivity.

A balance of all three must be found. An attempt to place emphasis on a certain subject for a prolonged period of time would lead to the eventual breakdown of the others. If any one of these areas begins to lag excessively, we are doomed.

Normally, I don't like too much a challenge when playing a game, and head for monarch, though I do feel comfortable at emperor and deity when I have the extra time on my hands to play those games correctly.

The best departmental leaders are organized, prompt, reliable, and responsible. We need organized leaders to keep things running smoothly. Prompt leaders post discussion when relevant, Reliable leaders get their instructions up on time. Responsible leaders are ones whose desicions can be trusted.

Who would you rather have as a deputy, someone you knew and got along with, but who was not qualified, or someone that you did not work well with, but was very good at the job?

I would much rather have a qualified deputy. If I am to put my trust in someone while I'm away, that person needs to know the job.

Why are you running for the department you are running for?

I feel that we are at a critical stage of developement. This is the time we decide our future. I believe that I am the best person to help ensure that the future we chose is the best.

If I was running for another position, I would have another PI against me...

What victory would you prefer?

I've always perfered the finesse of the culture victory, but in this game, I think we should aim for domination or spaceship.

In extreme, extreme, extreme emergencies, yes.

What is the most important tech in the industrial age?

There are two I think that are essential to our survival. Replaceable parts first, Motorized Transportation second.

We really should enter an age of building while learning the sectest of infantry and Panzers. Currently, and type of offensive would be very difficult. With those new weapons, war would be easier.

The citizens are the most essential part of any plans that we have. I would start all types of discussion in order to make my own decision.

My stint as governor of the South Doughnut Coast inclines me to favor America and England for future targets. We must take advantage of the location of the palace. and move to the east.

Are you for holding chats and when do you plan to hold them?

As stated above, I am for holding turn chats. As for a specific time, I would aim for Saturday and Wednesday evenings (EST). Saturday mornings are out of the question, since I can't wake up all THAT early...

We have over 50 cities, and it's only the industrial age. How comfortable are you with micromanaging workers and cities (for unhappiness)? What is your experience with micromanaging?

On some lower level games, I tend to ignore micromanaging. However, in those Emperor and Deity games, everything goes through a fine toothed comb. I'm extremely comfortable just flipping through all those cities.
