I've been playing Civ3 Succession games. They are wonderful. Could we play a Civ1 Succession Game here? I guess we would all have to have the same game, either Civ1 DOS or Civ1 Windows or Civnet.

What do you think?

Nice idea!
WinCiv or Civnet would be fine for me. I don't have Civ for DOS...
When some people agree to play we'll have to decide at what level on which map etc.
:)

Great! I have both WinCiv and CivNet.

We need 5 or 6 people.

Civ1- addict, you have more experience with Civ1 than I do, would you act as leader for us?

I don't think you really need a leader in a succession game, just somebody that takes care of some polls before you start, starts a game and makes a list of the people that agreed to play, right?
Anyway, I'm willing to do that! :)

So people, listen up!!!!!
WANNA PLAY???
Just post below and I'll start some polls when we have 4 or 5 people who want to play.

I'll make polls on:
The level of the game.
The map we will play on.
Whether or not we will customize the map. (warm/cold great/small landmass)
The number of turns everybody will play.

Other ideas for polls?

I would suggest the first person play 20 turns. The 2nd player 15 turns. And after that everyone plays 10 turns.

Thanks for taking charge, civ1-addict.

What civ do we want to be? I'm open.

Also everyone needs to keep a log of their turns and post that along with the save.

Sounds like a fun idea.

At the moment I only have Civ1Dos, so may or may not be able to join, depending what version you choose to use.

I'd also suggest, re polls, that we try to get people to agree on their basic approach (is it going to be a spaceship game or a conquering game?)

Why not? That would be great. I have CivNET, WinCiv and CivDos which doesn't work in my computer

I would be willing to organize one, but you'd have to pm me or post here what difficulty you want to play on, what civ you would want to be, and what versions of civ you have. If we can get enough people, perhaps we can have a couple different games, one on DOS one probably on civnet or winciv. That way if you have all of them you could play on both games curbing the potential player shortage from complete seperation.

I just don't want to mess my computer with some old (but very good;) ) DOS games

I've got dos, win, and net.

@Ville: Civ1 wont screw up your computer, it's rather isolated in it's install and operation so shouldn't affect anything else...except for the meg of memory it takes.

BTW, I am looking for around 6 players and then we can start. If it needs be, I can possibly call in some friends on it. If we need to, we can start a DOS and a WIN game.

DOS is better but I don't want to take any risks!
Windows version is not so good, it isn't so original and it misses those cool musics;)

I'm always in for a Civ 1 game!
I only have the DOS version but I guess I could get WinCiv and Civnet if necessary.
BTW what is a succesion game?
