Played a 5CC game last night and something happened that has not happened to me before.

Played as Carthagans (industrious, commercial)

went from republic to Democracy in 1 turn.
IS THIS NORMAL, not that im complaining but i almost fell out of my chair.:crazyeye: :crazyeye:

I imagine it is because of how the length of Anarchy is computed. I don't know the exact formula, but I know that the number of cities you have, along with the number of happy people, comes into play. In a 5CC you only have 5 cities, so your civ is "small", and will have shorter Anarchy periods.

I frequently have 1-turn anarchy as a non-religious OCC civ.

I'm sure someone someday will perform exhaustive anarchy tests to figure out what the limits are.

Catt had a thread on Apolyton that addressed this question,
http://apolyton.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=63506

Soren confirmed (way back in February) that the length is always between 1 - 5 turns on a random basis, with an additional 0-3 turns depending on number of cities, producing a range of possibilities of between 1 and 8 turns.

So with a OCC you should see 1-5 turns. If you revolted on the turn you got the tech, in response to a dialog, and actually spent a full round in anarchy, that would be '2' turns. Revolting via popup dialog would seem like 0-4 turns.

I drew '1' from a 2CC game recently and was quite pleased :P
