All candidates for Legislative positions should respond to these debate questions. You may also write a short "stump" speech giving whatever information you feel the voters need.

  3. What qualifications and experience do you have for the position you are running for?
  4. How do you feel about turn-chats and is your position that they should continue as is, or do you favor the concept of private/closed door turn sessions by the DP? What about an offline turn 0 or prechat moves?

  6. Explain in one sentence why the citizens should vote for you instead of your opponents.
  7. Do you favor moving the demogame to PTW or should we stay with Civ3 1.29?
  8. What plans and ideas do you have for your department during Term 7?

  13. If offered a leader position and a governor position, which would you take?

Why are you running for the position you are running for?
I am running for this position, again, since I love it and have had it for the last two terms.

Are you running for 2 positions? If so, which ones? If you win both positions, which would you take?
No

What qualifications and experience do you have for the position you are running for?
I've been a governor for the last 3 terms, and Ive pulled this province out of the middle ages and into the industrial ages.

How do you feel about turn-chats and is your position that they should continue as is, or do you favor the concept of private/closed door turn sessions by the DP? What about an offline turn 0 or prechat moves?
I feel they are needed and I am an avdocate of prechat moves, seeing as they make it so we dont spend an hour queueing.

Are you familiar with all of our laws? When is it appropriate to not follow the laws?
Yes, I am. Its okay to not follow them... hm... when one renegotiates peace, no thats allowed... i dont know

Explain in one sentence why the citizens should vote for you instead of your opponents.

Vote SaaM: Ive won already.

Do you favor moving the demogame to PTW or should we stay with Civ3 1.29?

I created the durn "Do You Have PTW" Poll. I feel for the sake of workers, we should move over to PTW (and the internet would be nice)

What plans and ideas do you have for your department during Term 7?

Well, Id love to be able to get a factory in all of my core cities (morgana, burrow, strider), as well as more banks and markets in cities that are corrupt (penguin, gooniedum) and id love to relocate New PDX

What difficulty level do you normally play the Civilization 3 game at?

Chieftan-Emperor (trying for diety later this month)

If not Emperor or higher, do you feel comfortable playing at an Emperor level in this game?

Yes

Do you have a working Civilization 3 game patched to version 1.29?

Yes

Are turn chats a luxury or a nessessity for a Governor?

Nessessity.

If offered a leader position and a governor position, which would you take?

Governor

A reminder: the week of March 17 I WILL be handing control of the province over to domestic, since that week i have preformances of Pippin. (the musical i have the lead in)

Why are you running for the position you are running for?
I wish to do my part to help Fanatika and the demogame. North Province has had fantastic governors throughout its history and I will continue that legacy.

Are you running for 2 positions? If so, which ones? If you win both positions, which would you take?
No. With so many offices vacant of even a single candidate I do not think it woule be proper for me to run for multiple positions.

What qualifications and experience do you have for the position you are running for?
I have extensive experience in Civ3 including excellent micromanagement skills. I have a high regard for what the citizens want as far as goals go and the ability to help reach them.

How do you feel about turn-chats and is your position that they should continue as is, or do you favor the concept of private/closed door turn sessions by the DP? What about an offline turn 0 or prechat moves?
I am generally indifferent on the private/open playing of turns. Whatever works and is more popular is fine for me. I do think that turn 0 actions and prechat moves should be allowed offline. This would cut our chat times by hours and hopefully stress to the leaders that they have to post instructions instead of giving them in the chats.

Are you familiar with all of our laws? When is it appropriate to not follow the laws?
Yes, I'm about as familiar as you can get as I drafted the bulk of them. I don't think it's ever really appropriate to break a law. If a law is wrong or inconvenient then get it changed.

Explain in one sentence why the citizens should vote for you instead of your opponents.
I don't think that will be a real concern. As of this writing there are 6 offices without a candidate and only 3 offices that will have an election poll. If another candidate for North Province surfaces I will likely abandon this position to take up slack elsewhere.

Do you favor moving the demogame to PTW or should we stay with Civ3 1.29?
I think it would be great to move to PTW, so long as it doesn't stop existing players from participating.

What plans and ideas do you have for your department during Term 7?
That will depend a lot on what our game goals are. I will gear the province for growth, military, economic development or whatever is needed to further the national agenda.

What difficulty level do you normally play the Civilization 3 game at?
About 50/50 between emperor and diety.

If not Emperor or higher, do you feel comfortable playing at an Emperor level in this game?
n/a

Do you have a working Civilization 3 game patched to version 1.29?
Yes

Are turn chats a luxury or a nessessity for a Governor?
A luxury. Generally speaking a governor's build queues and instructions are long reaching and predictable. In the unlikely event that some calamity or occurence invalidates a governors instructions, the chat will most likely be stopped at that point anyway.

If offered a leader position and a governor position, which would you take?
Obviously governor. If I wanted an Executive position I would take one of those that are currently vacant.

Why are you running for the position you are running for?
Because I like to be governor. Hafen Land is not among the biggest of our provinces, and that suits me well, as I currently have a lot of schoolwork.

Are you running for 2 positions? If so, which ones? If you win both positions, which would you take?
I am only running for this one.

What qualifications and experience do you have for the position you are running for?
I have been governor of Rhineland and Hafen Land earlier.

How do you feel about turn-chats and is your position that they should continue as is, or do you favor the concept of private/closed door turn sessions by the DP? What about an offline turn 0 or prechat moves?
I think the current system of turn chats works fine. And I try to attend all the tcs I can.

Are you familiar with all of our laws? When is it appropriate to not follow the laws?
Of course I follow the laws.

Explain in one sentence why the citizens should vote for you instead of your opponents.
I have experience, and I am commited.

Do you favor moving the demogame to PTW or should we stay with Civ3 1.29?
I think it would be helpfull to move over to PTW, but it depends on how well the moving goes, and how many of the citizens have PTW.

What plans and ideas do you have for your department during Term 7?
To continue the growth of Hafen Land and help Fanatika as much as possible.

What difficulty level do you normally play the Civilization 3 game at?
It depends. But normaly I _like_ to play on regent, as everyone has the same cost. Higher difficulties are also nice.

If not Emperor or higher, do you feel comfortable playing at an Emperor level in this game?
Yes I do.

Do you have a working Civilization 3 game patched to version 1.29?
Yes I do.

Are turn chats a luxury or a nessessity for a Governor?
A nessessity as often as possible.

If offered a leader position and a governor position, which would you take?
Right now I would take the governor position, as I dont have time for a leader position.

Why are you running for the position you are running for?
Last term was my first term at governing, and I liked it. I want to continue, there are still many things to be done.

Are you running for 2 positions? If so, which ones? If you win both positions, which would you take?
Nope, just this one. South Doughnut Coast.

What qualifications and experience do you have for the position you are running for?
Well, I was governor this last term. And it was me who started the whole 'who do workers belong to' thing in the Senate :D I'm guilty of sticking the pole into the wasp's nest, sort of say.

How do you feel about turn-chats and is your position that they should continue as is, or do you favor the concept of private/closed door turn sessions by the DP? What about an offline turn 0 or prechat moves?
As I've stated before, they are an integral part of the game. I'd be willing to venture into the turn 0 thing, but after a long discussion with the citizenry.

Are you familiar with all of our laws? When is it appropriate to not follow the laws?
I'm familiar with the 3 books, I don't know them by heart, nor do I want to. When is it fine to break them? when no one is looking! hmm.. I supose when things must be done and there is no other way of doing it.

Explain in one sentence why the citizens should vote for you instead of your opponents.
I don't have oponents :(

Do you favor moving the demogame to PTW or should we stay with Civ3 1.29?
Depends on how many people will be able to play it, eventually I think we should do it, but maybe in dg3.

What plans and ideas do you have for your department during Term 7?
Continue speaking in the Senate for governor rights, and whatever comes along that I can take a bite at.

What difficulty level do you normally play the Civilization 3 game at?
Monarchy

If not Emperor or higher, do you feel comfortable playing at an Emperor level in this game?
Yeah, why not ;)

Do you have a working Civilization 3 game patched to version 1.29?
Of course

Are turn chats a luxury or a nessessity for a Governor?
As long as he posted the instructions, I see no reason why he/she absolutely must attend.

If offered a leader position and a governor position, which would you take?
Right now? governor.

Ehecatl Atzin

Why are you running for the position you are running for?
>> The encouragement and nomination first came from CT, and after finally understanding the tasks of a governor, i realized i's do very well on that. Also, Lake Land has many growing possibilities, which i want to explore as swiftly as i can to make it a strong border to put our neighbors to envy :)

Are you running for 2 positions? If so, which ones? If you win both positions, which would you take?
>> I'm running for Trade Leader also.

What qualifications and experience do you have for the position you are running for?
>> Well, mostly offline playing but also looking through most of this demogame, learning from what others wrote.

How do you feel about turn-chats and is your position that they should continue as is, or do you favor the concept of private/closed door turn sessions by the DP? What about an offline turn 0 or prechat moves?
>> For now, i think things should stay as they are. At least, until i form an opinion about them !

Are you familiar with all of our laws? When is it appropriate to not follow the laws?
>> I have read all of the laws, but i'm not very familiar with how they're executed ^.^

Explain in one sentence why the citizens should vote for you instead of your opponents.
>> A new land like this should be governed by a new mind.

What difficulty level do you normally play the Civilization 3 game at? If not Emperor or higher, do you feel comfortable playing at an Emperor level in this game?
>> I usually play Monarch, or Emperor. I feel quite confortable with Emperor.

Do you have a working Civilization 3 game patched to version 1.29?
>> yes.

Do you favor moving the demogame to PTW or should we stay with Civ3 1.29?
>> i favor moving.

Are turn chats a luxury or a nessessity for a Governor?
>> a necessity, as being present in the making of things is not only a matter of the wellbeing of your province, but also of the whole nation.

If offered a leader position and a governor position, which would you take?
>> it would depend on what position. I'd rather have the governor, for now :)

Why are you running for the position you are running for?
I am running for the governorship of "Lake Land" because it is a new province with potential, and as such will be interesting (and important) to govern properly.

Are you running for 2 positions? If so, which ones? If you win both positions, which would you take?
I am only running for this position.

What qualifications and experience do you have for the position you are running for?
I do not have any experience in public office, however I have been watching for a while, and have participated in various debates, though the interesting one is in the MSDG thread.

How do you feel about turn-chats and is your position that they should continue as is, or do you favor the concept of private/closed door turn sessions by the DP? What about an offline turn 0 or prechat moves?
Turn-chats should stay as-is, because although they take a LONG time, they allow last-minute input, which can change much. As to closed door sessions, NO. Open-door sessions let the entire citizenry observe the workings of the government and are (I think) much more fun. Offline turn 0... see first sentence.

Are you familiar with all of our laws? When is it appropriate to not follow the laws?
I am familiar with the major points of the law, however the smaller points I have not exactly memorized.

Explain in one sentence why the citizens should vote for you instead of your opponents.
Well, about the only things going for me (I think) is that I have strong ideas on most subjects, and also that I am good at micromanagement, the best thing for a small province.

Do you favor moving the demogame to PTW or should we stay with Civ3 1.29?
Stay with 1.29, many more people have it then have PTW.

What plans and ideas do you have for your department during Term 7?
I plan on a few things, *mostly* related to increasing prosperity in the province. Bombay will become a worker/settler factory for implementing the size 12 plan or simply to improve land, and might eventually (with a courthouse) become a major science producer. Calcutta has somewhat dismal prospects, at least until it receives a courthouse or at least some citizens become Fanatikan. Lahore could become a pretty good producer with some of the hills mined, but this would take many workers to accomplish. At last Delhi, the jewel of Lake Land. After helping with the size 12 plan and making workers for improvements, and also the hills nearby being mined, it could become a very good producer, possibly 60+. Also, the defense situation here is DISMAL and needs improvement.

What difficulty level do you normally play the Civilization 3 game at?
I like Regent, but Emperor is okay too.

If not Emperor or higher, do you feel comfortable playing at an Emperor level in this game?
I almost always fell at least comfortable, except in the case of a really bad starting position, as in GOTM 3 (I think it was 3).

Do you have a working Civilization 3 game patched to version 1.29?
Yes.

Are turn chats a luxury or a nessessity for a Governor?
They are a necessity, because they allow instant adaptation to changes in the game (very important) and are simply fun.

If offered a leader position and a governor position, which would you take?
Governor, a leader position is too much responsibility.

Greetings, Noldolan, greetings citizens.

I am hereby declining my nomination to governor of Lake Land. Vote Noldolan for Governor of Lake Land!
I'll be retaking my nomination to Wine & Dine, if that's possible. By doing so, both provinces will have a governor in the next term ^.^

ah. well then. Thank you ikey, and hello Fanatika! I guess that this makes it an uncontested election.

  1. Why are you running for the position you are running for?
Because Lakeland is the name of a local youth correctional facility, and I want to say "I govern Lakeland" to all my hoodlum friends.
  2. Are you running for 2 positions? If so, which ones? If you win both positions, which would you take?
I'm not really running for any position. I'm in more of a slow jog. Actually, I'm race walking for governor of Lakeland, and that's all. Don't wanna pull anything.
  3. What qualifications and experience do you have for the position you are running for?
I'm really good at automating my workers in Civ III. I'm like a pro at that.
  4. How do you feel about turn-chats and is your position that they should continue as is, or do you favor the concept of private/closed door turn sessions by the DP? What about an offline turn 0 or prechat moves?
Well, since I think, and hope, Octiavian is going to win the race for president, I'm firmly agianst private turn sessions. Octiavian is a menace. If Octavian is allowed to play the game by himself, he'll play loud devil music and dance around a pentagram between turns. So we must have turn chats to keep him in line. Other than his wierd satanic antics, Octavian deserves president, so Go Octiavian!
  5. Are you familiar with all of our laws? When is it appropriate to not follow the laws?
Yes, I've met all the laws and will follow them to hell and back.
  6. Explain in one sentence why the citizens should vote for you instead of your opponents.
My avatar is a pirate ship, Arrr!
  7. Do you favor moving the demogame to PTW or should we stay with Civ3 1.29?
I say go to PTW... crap... just lost the votes of poor people.. Nevermind! Stay w/ 1.29! double crap... just lost the votes of people who don't like poor people... I say nothing!
  8. What plans and ideas do you have for your department during Term 7?
I thought we'd start w/ a big party and invite the Iro's over, and make sure they bring thier women. After we get the Iro's all drunk, we'd kill the Iro men and make the women do the laundry of everyone of the province!
  9. What difficulty level do you normally play the Civilization 3 game at?
    Chieftian. I like to win.
  10. If not Emperor or higher, do you feel comfortable playing at an Emperor level in this game?
Nope, but that's why there are all you good playing smart people here to say "Myartar, that's just dumb."
  11. Do you have a working Civilization 3 game patched to version 1.29?
Civilization 3? I thought this was Call to Power!?
  12. Are turn chats a luxury or a nessessity for a Governor?
I called the office of my governor, Governor Holden of Missouri, and his office said they don't know WHAT a "turn chat" is, so I guess they're a luxury.
  13. If offered a leader position and a governor position, which would you take?
You think after this lil speech they're going to OFFER me ANY postion?

Okay, because I'm sure I've broken some rule in this red tape filled world, let me explain my actual postion here. I've played in the DG before and really enjoyed it. I left for a while due to RL crapola, but now I'm back w/ my sarcastic humor and argumentative nature. My goal with getting elected(even tho I'm getting creamed so far) is not just to "make lakeland great" but to have a coucil vote to prevent more useless, boring rules, and try and fight some that are already active. That doesn't mean I'm gonna neglect my duties of queing and that yummy stuff, it just means my goals stretch far beyond Delhi.
So in closing, if you want someone who is going to make Iro women wash your clothes, like all good Iro women should do, vote for me! Because I'd possibly consider maybe someday voting for you.
