All candidates for Legislative positions should respond to these debate questions. You may also write a short "stump" speech giving whatever information you feel the voters need.

  1. Why are you running for the department you are running for?
  2. Are you running for 2 positions? If so, which ones? If you win both positions, which would you take?
  3. What qualifications and experience do you have for the position you are running for?
  4. How do you feel about turn-chats and is your position that they should continue as is, or do you favor the concept of private/closed door turn sessions by the DP? What about an offline turn 0 or prechat moves?
  5. Are you familiar with all of our laws? When is it appropriate to not follow the laws?
  6. Explain in one sentence why the citizens should vote for you instead of your opponents.
  7. Do you favor moving the demogame to PTW or should we stay with Civ3 1.29?
  8. What plans and ideas do you have for your department during Term 7?
  9. Do you feel it is the Judiciary's responsibility, or right, to create new laws out of existing legislation?
  10. What do you feel the role of the Judiciary should be in the Demo Game?
  11. Should the Judiciary be reactive (handling problems as they come up) or proactive (actively seeking problem areas to fix before they become a problem)?

Shaitan- Check your top message, it says Legislative Branch, it should be Judicial

1. I am making my third bid for the position of Chief Justice.

2. I have accepted two nominations, but I will decline the Trade Leader nomination as I am only allowed to run for one position.

3. I was the Term 3 Public Defender and the Judge Advocate Terms 4-6. I have also served in various deputy positions.

4. I feel that turn-chats are an integral part of the Democracy Game because they allow citizens to voice their opinions and see their elected officials in action. I feel that turn 0 moves should be performed in the chat and some important decisions are made during that period that the citizens should have opinions in.

5. With four terms of experience on the Judiciary, I am extremely familiar with all of our three books. I think the laws are fair and reasonable (they need a little fixing up but thats OK) so there should never be a time when they can be broken.

6. I am experienced, hard-working, responsible and active.

7.I think we should stay with 1.29 for the remainder of this DG as there are some people who don't have PTW. We could move to PTW for DG #3.

8. I plan on trying to make the Judiciary as efficient and fast as possible and I would like to spearhead a reforming of our Three Books to make them as good as possible. I would also like to try and make the PI procedure less time consuming as right now, a single PI takes about 1/4 of the term.

9. No, the Judiciary shpuld interpert and rule on laws that have been questioned by the citizens. However, a Judiciary membe should be able to create laws independently.

10. The role of the Judiciary should be to interpert and rule on the laws of Fanatika and to make sure that they are followed to their fullest extent.

11. I think the Judiciary should be proactive. They should find loopholes and errors in the laws before they come up and make a big issue for the people. However, citizens should also do this and it is still their responsibility to bring forth PI's.

In conclusion, make my third bid for Chief Justice a sucessful one! Vote Naervod for Chief Justice!

  1. [*]Why are you running for the department you are running for?
Mainly becuase the position needed to be filled. I do intend to help move legislation through that will help strengthen the Governor's role in the future of the DG.

[*]Are you running for 2 positions? If so, which ones? If you win both positions, which would you take?
I was just Governor of The North Province, so I can only run for 1 position.

[*]What qualifications and experience do you have for the position you are running for?
Besides holding a myriad of DG Government positions, I also helped a group of men write the Constitution.

[*]How do you feel about turn-chats and is your position that they should continue as is, or do you favor the concept of private/closed door turn sessions by the DP? What about an offline turn 0 or prechat moves?
They should continue as is. I doubt anything could top the involvement by citizens, the efficiency, or the fun of our t/c system. I am not opposed to offline pre-turns or one move chats, as long as they are documented with a chat log or some other means that can be read by the public.

[*]Are you familiar with all of our laws? When is it appropriate to not follow the laws?
I am fairly familiar with the Laws of Fanatika, yes. The only time you should not follow the Laws of Fanatika is when you are outside of the game.

[*]Explain in one sentence why the citizens should vote for you instead of your opponents.
Actually, as I'm the only candidate, I don't think they'll get a chance to vote for me. Maybe next time...

[*]Do you favor moving the demogame to PTW or should we stay with Civ3 1.29?
Personally, I don't own PTW. This game should definitely not be switched over. If the people decide to start DG3 with PTW, then that is fine with me.

[*]What plans and ideas do you have for your department during Term 7?
I would like to see the Judiciary more involved in the Demogame, instead of hiding in the shadows. It's too bad we can't get Bill back into the Judiciary. Now he was good.

[*]Do you feel it is the Judiciary's responsibility, or right, to create new laws out of existing legislation?
I feel it's the Judiciary's responsibility and right to help the citizen's of Fanatika create the new laws they want and need. It is not for the Judiciary to do this alone, it is the Judiciary's job to see that this gets down if it is called for by the people.

[*]What do you feel the role of the Judiciary should be in the Demo Game?
I believe I have pretty much answered that question already. Each member of the Judiciary has their position outlined for them in the Constitution. Above and beyond that, civic pride and leadership in Judicial procedure would be 2 areas to key on.

[*]Should the Judiciary be reactive (handling problems as they come up) or proactive (actively seeking problem areas to fix before they become a problem)?
I believe the members of the Judiciary should pursue solutions to evident problem areas of the Demogame that need the attention of the Judiciary. Anyone that is a Nominee for the Judiciary should already know what these areas are, and should not have to go looking for them. There will always be problem areas, and there will always be solutions for them. You can either hide from them and hope they don't surface on your watch, or you can acknowledge their existance and do your best to resolve them.
