I have a proposal for a new office, a branch of domestic. You can see what's coming out of it from this thread. (last post)

What it's designed to do is to assess province by province, the number of improvements each city and province has (including culture). The origanal intent was to produce a top 5 province list. This is what the thread should contain:

1st post: Provincial City List
2nd post: Comprehensive Improvement List
3rd post: Comprehensive Productivity List (food/commerce/shields)
4th post: Census
5th post: Provincial Tourism Info
6th post on: Cities in provinces (3-4 provinces per post)

1st post -

This would simply list the cities of the province (foreign cities included, but the final city count will not include foreign cities) in each province, and list them. They will also include the capital of the city. The cities can have links to city threads.

2nd post -

This one (as you'll see in that thread) contains the improvements for each city in that province. This would make it easy for prioritizing certain builds - especially when a new governor comes in and doesn't know what the city has. (or when the build queue(s) run out during the turn chat)

3rd post -

This would contain info like food, shields, commerce, maintnence etc.. Corruption would subtract from the totals (that way, you don have a 100 commerce city at #1 when in reality, it only produces 1 coin per turn).

4th post -

Another lost art from the first demogame. Except, it's not who lives where, it's the population count of our cities. Granted, this one might have more of a roleplay factor.

I agree on this proposal. If this proposal goes through. I am willing to Help out in that office :D.

I would also like to help out if this proposal goes through, which it should.

A great idea - it would be excellent for keep our cities organized, and could help the DP with mircomanaging, etc.

Then again, a new office would not be necesary if our governors would be willing to give this kind of information in the provincial thread.

This sounds like an excellent idea, but sounds like it would take some time to do. ;)

I would try to help out with something if I could.

I think once we get everything together, we can have the DP write down all the builds. That's sort of done when the DP writes stuff like:

Gunningheim: Temple > Granary
Pensacola: Factory > Colleseum

and so on. That list can be given to the department so they can add in the info. Of course, I can attempt to make a program that gets that info...

I am also going to add some pages for province/city discriptions. Sort of like a Tourist Office.

New Name:
Office of Provincial Delevopment and Tourism

We just might soon have 20 provinces if we actually conquer everyone before domination. (maybe 25 tops)

But, assuming that we get 20, I will do this:

There's a 15,000 character limit for posts. With 50 cities (we have more...) that's 300 characters per city, and less if we want to include provinces. I may try for 500 characters per city. It's about 300 characters to write a small paragraph.

That's about 30 cities per post, so, I will have 5 posts ready for that info. I will update the first post...

On second though, I could have 1 post per province, giving ample room to describe each city. That way, Ehecatl Atzin can provide nice writeups for each city. :yeah:

umm.. bump. Anyone still interested?

Is this replacing Provincial threads? I post all of this stuff in my thread, so would this just be a central place to get all our info from? Sorta like a large database?

A database is the idea, I believe. If we could get governors to send in this info, with a single, central person to organize and post it, it could work.

Also, rather than putting it on the forum, that person could upload the info in a .txt file, where there wouldn't be a character limit.

I hate .txt . It looks ugly. I like my colourful way of doing things. Follow the link in my sig to Rhineland.

Great Idea!!! Make it easier to find everything also!

Dang. Now i'll have to do all that nasssty looking at cities and typing up boring statistics... *shiver* But if you really want, I suppose I'll manage.:)
