I start again a thread to have something clean.
I will post here the current progress status for the tech trees, and the units tree.

Here are the key to read the tech trees.

Each "square" is divided in 2. The top shows the name of the tech, the bottom shows what it gives.

The background color of the top of the square shows the status of the icon.
The background color of the bottom of the square shows the status of the civilopedia text.

Meaning of the color :
- Yellow : unavailable. So BeBro, Illustrious and other, I need your help!
- Orange : I can use civIII original text and icon (sometimes using the icon for an other text). However, you can still provide a better text or icon if you want.
- Green : the text or the icon has been done especially for this mod by someone (ex : BeBro for icon, or Illustrious for text).
- Blue : the tech has been integrated and tested in game, it's supposed to be completly finished.

I hope this well help everbybody to follow the evolution of the mod, and it will be easier to know how to help.

I will also update the tree whenever a change is done.

Ancient and medieval tech tree.

This era is done for generic units, except I'm still missing a few text and graphics.
But it works in game. Civ specific units will be done later, once all the techs are in place.

Renaissance & imperialism tech tree. Some texts, but a lot of icon are missing
All the techs and generic units are done, except for a few animations I'm waiting from Cossacks.

I'm still missing several icons for techs, as well as texts.

And to finish, the military lines. It shows the upgrade path of all the units. Note that to fit in in one screen, there is no real timeline. It just shows all the paths next to the other, without any synchronization between them.
I already know what graphics I will use for almost every unit. But the text will probably be written specifically for all of them. So if you want to work on that, you're welcome!

OK, if you don't prefer Illustrious (I would understand ;) ) I volunteer to do evolution theory, renaissance tactics, nationalism and Empire (texts only).

You are all welcome to try your hand at whatever tech you would like. Even if several people are producing the same text, I can then do a mix of them and keep the most interesting idea, and sometimes use a part of the text with an another related tech.

Good idea with the "status colors". Makes it more easier to keep the overview :)

Attached are three more icons for the medieval tech tree:

- capitalism
- physics
- cavalry tactics

Anybody still with me here? BeBro, no new icones? Illustrious or Loulong, some texts? No one with comment or suggestion for the modern tech tree?

As I'm working on the CEC tool to help me implement all the suggestion, while converting Cossacks units, I still have enough time to integrate feedback in my trees

Oops, it seems like I forgot to post what I had already done:

- Renaissance Tactics
- Imperialism (not very good)
- evolutionary theory

Thank you!

Renaissance & Imperialism tech tree updated.

I thought we're supposed to keep the forums in English? I seem to remember Padma I believe reprimand others for speaking other languages.

Steph, I applaude you for getting others to help you with your tech texts and icons and stuff. No one seems to want to help me, though I've asked several times. :(

I really like that military chart you've got there, very neat and organized.

Sorry if it bothers you so much, but since that thread is more or less "private" for a few people I thought it wouldn't matter if I put a private message in French to Steph rather than sending him a standard PM.

So I don't think it was worth complaining like that about.

PS Procifica, I am helping on the map.

When I get more time (roughly two weeks), I will do the following texts :

- Mounted infantry
- Regimental Organization
- Assault troops
- Separation of powers
- Fossil Energy
- Steam Engine

I am not quite sure I get the blue stuff in Medicine, Urbanization and Sanitation. Is the blue text important or the yellow background prevalent ? I mean do they need to be done ?

BTW I saw you did not update (or I don't get the "nomenclature" of it) the techs I did texts for. They did not fit ?

The background is the important color. The text color helps to see if the tech gives a unit (name of the unit should be red), or a building (blue), or a government (orange), but it's not fully respected.

The background is OK. Exemple: You did renaissance tactics. The bottom half of the square is in green, meaning someone has done the text. The top half is still yellow, meaning I have no icon.

OK then I will do medicine, urbanization and sewer as well.

But you must count me out for the more modern stuff. Just ain't my "cup of tea".

A few changes after some remarks.

Some new governments.

In the ancient & medieval era, The Republic is replaced by ancient Republic, a government given byt a new tech "Elected leaders". It will represent a mix between absolute monarchy and the vanilla Civ III Republic. However, it should have a rather high corruption, to represente the strugle for power between elite citizens.

In the Renaissance & Imperialism era:
- Democracy is replace with the Republic (the one will all know, but it will be available later).
- Representative monarchy, that came with separation of power, will be slightly better than
- Colonial empire should be quite nice to conquer others!

In the Industrial era:
- Democracy appears with Universal Suffrage.

My goal is to put the better government for later game, and provide smoother transition between government, to avoid to big differences between them.

In modern era, a new tech "Armor tradition" gives the heavy tanks.

I'm still not completly satisfied with the modern age tehc tree, I still have a lot of "holes"
