Hi guy !

Well, I didn't make anything for about the past 3 months. The reason is I have a hell of work and no time to focus on anything else.

I have to say I really miss making units ! I first wanted to learn Poser and make a human unit I would love to see on the game, but I won't have enought time and energy. So I'll stay on my big fat loved tanks ! I hope I'm not rusty !

I wondered a long time witch one to make, and I chose the Ariete italian main battle tank. It would be usefull for the Romans.

I post just to book it. It would be stupid that two of us make the same tank at the same time, since I don't really know how much time I'll need to complete it.

I'm still in the modeling stage, so if you would like to see something about the graphics or animations, well... it's time to post any suggestions and I'll see what I can do.

Woo-hoo! I'm glad to see that you are coming back to creation! Yeah, I like the look of this tank myself as well. I had been thinking about making this tank since I first started creating units. I just never got around to it. Good choice. I can't wait for it, but I suppose I must.

I think dark brown camo would be cool, we dont have many brown tanks.

Welcome back! I agree with Yoda. A different color might look nice compared to all the green tanks.

Good idea about the colors. I'm gonna look into that way.

The model is far from achieved. No colors and no many details yet. Just a very basic profil. But every unit starts like that

I won't be able to work on it till monday (I planned a romantic week-end with my sweet-lady :love:

), but I can show you where I am. I put on it a unique coloration, just to make it seeable.

Anyway, if you know my usual work, you also already know that I won't stop to this starting level.

PLEASE don't judge me on these outlines, or my reputation is really gonna get hurt

Well, I think I'm about to have something good here.

This should be the final model.

I made it mainly brown, as requested. I tryed a unique brown color, but it looks too cartonny, I think, so I made different tones as a camo.

Any suggestions about the textures, details, colors etc. are very welcome now, before I begin the animations.

Holy ku****e!!!! That looks awesome. I requested this tank waaaay back and I'm glad it ends up being in the inventory.

Personally I would have liked the camo that's in the pictures considering what environment those tanks would be operating in as this looks more like a desert camo (even tho a desert camo isn't of much use these days...just ask saydam h.).

B-man, you dam well know your work is awesome! Keep working on it. Since you are going to make some tanks I'd also request a Marder Mech Inf for Germany and a Type 98 for the Chinese. I also never saw a T-72. And if you run out of requested tanks just make those that haven't been made yet.

I know, it's a lot of requests but b-man, I think you can handle it!

I also never saw a T-72. And if you run out of requested tanks just make those that haven't been made yet. I know, it's a lot of requests but b-man, I think you can handle it!

I thought vdog was makeing the Type 98, did he ever finish that?

That looks like a super model. Since you asked for suggestions, I'll lend a couple. First, I think that the barrel could me moved up a little higher on the turret. I know it would be a pain to cut out that whole is the front of the turret again, but . . . Also, I think that the back of the turret stretches back to far. When, I was concidering making this tank, I looked at a lot of pictures. Here's a line drawing of the Ariete. The top-left, side-view looks like it has the turret ending before the chassis ends. It looks like your turret and chassis end at the same point.

Other than that, it looks great!

Woops... I have the same blueprint and I worked from it, but I can't explain why I missed such a big mystake. You're right Utahjazz. My turret ends up too far. I'll see what I can do about it. But I'm angry !! I hope it won't be a pain to reduce it from this advanced work.

Shady : I'll consider your requests, even if I think I already have another project in mind. But anyway... One thing at a time.

I have some work to do since Utahjazz seems to be intransigent about the details (big detailes, here !) as much as I do !
