the ads at the botom of the forums about a cable descrambler, all star ladies from this pr0n site! i was wondering if the CFC staff knows about this? just pointing it out.

ps-if you HAVE to know, yes I do take some time to go to these sites every now and then. :satan:

He must have either a program to get rid of banners or a BIG host file, Opera doesn't get rid of banners only pop-ups.

BTW, if you are using a program which one is it?

What is "host file"?

There is a file on your computer called the HOSTS file. It contains information on sites that you don't want your browser to access. You can edit by adding lots well know add companies to it.

Unzip this file into C:\windows

BTW if you do you must remember that you are taking advice and using files from a person who has been banned for various reasons. So if it messes up your PC dont blame me.....blame....the French

The hosts file was originally intended so people could specify IP adresses of sites or networks instead of having the computer go the usual route.

However if you 127.0.0.1 as the address for a site, that is your computer, and obviously the site isn't there so it won't load. Some people report better speed gains by putting the address and 00.0.0.0.

Here is my hosts file. It's 755 kb.

The only hosts i can find on my system (XP pro) is in the windows/system32/drivers/etc folder
it is a 1KB file

Should I copy the downloaded hosts into that folder?

Any further instructions?

That should be the spot for XP. I would recommend making a back-up of the original file to make sure you can always undue it if you want.

You can right click on it, then choose 'open'. Just use word pad to view it. It's basically just a .txt file. You can copy/paste the lines into your existing one, or just replace your existing one. For new lines, make sure you follow the correct format and just type them in.

And also, if it gets saved as .txt make sure to rename the file to remove the extension.
