The modern era is fast approach, and we will be there sometime by the middle of next term (if we play 10 turns per turn chat). Several things should be on our agenda.
1 - Tech Race: Besides Fission, Computers and Synthetic Fibers, (Miniturization and Robotics being good choices), should we even concentrate on the spaceship techs? We'll need a larger economy for a couple of reasons:
a - Less civs on the block. By this time, the Iroquois and Russians might be history, China and America could be a shell of their former selves, and we could very well be on the doorsteps of France and England.
b - Less trade. Conquering civs means that civs won't trade with us, but when you own most of the map, and the only access is a landbridge, there's no sense trading with civs that you're about to conquer. Not to mention, civs like Greece won't have anyone to sell techs to, where in turn, we get the money from.
2 - Conquest: Who are we going to take next, and in what order? We're already marching on the Iroquois, and they can be taken out probably next turnchat (maybe even quicker than Babylon if we're lucky, seeing that we have them on all three sides. Russia will be easy to take out, and can be taken out in 3 turns. with panzers. China may pose to be a more formidable challenge, where as America (the north part) has probably been overextended. We should concentrate on the nations on our part of the world first. We'll also need warplans for each civ. (If you ever wanted to know how long it took Charis (DG1 mil. advisor) to play his Charis Tale 1, just look at the recent Bab war)
3 - Armies: We have 8 armies in the field, some of which are waiting to be filled. What should we fill them with?
4 - Great Leaders: As we have no wonders to build, armies have been the order of the day. But, we're getting close to the UN, and that's a must have wonder.
5 - Conquest or Domination: We could take the easy route and go for domination, or we could start razing at the end and go for conquest. We also need to watch what the other civs are doing (i.e., spaceship). To prevent a spaceship victory, we should put a transport with a stack of troops just outside of the capital in international waters.
