what do you people think of it anyway?

its a hobbit hole for those who dont know (hopefully not many of you here)

1. Check that all of the pink background is 255/0/255. It's very possible that the city graphics have a pink lining that isn't 255/0/255 but very close and is therefore very hard to notice.
2. You are not resizing the picture from a larger one with a pink background? It may cause the colors to mix up near the borders.

So study the image's palette. There should be only one shade of pink (255/0/255). If there is more, you've found your problem.

Its good, but it has to fit into all evironments, meaning it wouldnt look good in tundra or desert and so on since it would be very cut of.. Im not sure on how to change this tough...

I don't know if this is helpful, but with Icon pictures that has pink spots, I just lower brightness and contrast and the pink spots disappear.

I think drift is right, that's the reason you have this pink line :p

You have probably cut and pasted this with "anti-aliasing" on. Whereever you see it, turn it off.
Did you see my hobbit city, btw? there's a preview in the LOTR thread started by yodapower.

This occurs if you work in RGB colour in photoshop and resize it. It anti-aliases (makes a mix of pink and green) around the corners to make it look softer. Whenever you work on CIV3 graphics you have to turn antialiasing off. Also, before you resize, always go to indexed colour, then it doesn't antialias.

True.

Some of the city view graphics may use 255,1,255 for a change, at least WON_Pyramid_D.pcx. :D

Also when you paste something on that 255,0,255 magenta background anti-aliasing occurs in rgb mode. I sometimes like to resize in rgb mode though, because the graphics may change too much in indexed mode.

Civ3 also needs that magenta has index number 0 in photoshop, in some other programs it must the last color on the palette/color table. It's also useful to give green (r0,g255,b0) number 1 in photoshop.
