After a stunning succes in Bog 01, i have decided to make a new SG (no custom map)

Difficulty - Emporer
Civ - Germany
Map - Pangea
Size - Normal
Civs - Max
Barbs - Lowest
Everything else in the middle.

Varients -
May not *invade* a country with aim o destroy or severly dipple until infantry or panzers (cant decide). You can have border skirmeshes and take a few border towns, but no going close to their core. I am also thinking about Making Germany industrious, to compensate for no war. This is just a thought though. feedback would be great!

Roster -
Bewareofgnomes
Grimjack
Despot
Erik Mosey
Ville

Standard SG rules - 24/48

Sign me up for this one, even though I cannot prance around with preussian cavalry.
Grimjack.

Is it PTW?
You haven't started it yet, so if you could change to Civ3C, I'd join.
I can handle Panzers fairly well.

Making Germany industrious, to compensate for no war
That's no war until inf/panzers, right?

And is there a single person here who can say Emperor?

its ptw, sorry. my civ 3 disk is scratched. there can be war, just border skirmeshes though. it was just a random thought about industriuos, because i think that germany is industrious in real life. but they are also scientific and militaristic. i dunno, just a crazy thought.

No other takers??? Think we can start it and maybe that will entice others to take part...once they see the glory of the German war machine in action it will be too much to resist!

:( If it just was not PTW!!!
Loving the "Art of War" with
Panzers, i was looking for a game
like this for a while on emperor or deity.

i tel you what, i will look for either a civ 3 disk that works or a no cd crack. that way we can have a full roster now.

I saw a link to a crack somewhere on CF forums.
Mind if I start, play 20 turns, and put it up? If you go last in the roster, this might get started now...

Of course:
YOUR sg, YOUR rules. ;)

Is this for 1.14f?
If it is I MAY join. I have just won my first monarch game so I think I COULD handle it, so if it is I decide after schoolday, it's now 9AM here and my school ends 3PM, my first SG if I can join.

Notes from BoG1- my first reign

T1: We have a nice start. A river, two forest game, otherwise plains and hills. I set research to max on Pottery. Move worker to chop down and irrigate a game.

T2: Began chopping a forest with game.

T5: Berlin produces Warrior and starts another. Warrior goes scouting to the west.

T6: More game spotted to the west. COws to the southwest.

T7: Pop a goody hut. Angry barbs.
Interturn: Our warrior kills all three, becoming Elite.

Berlin produces another warrior. This one can be MP. Started prebuilding a granary with a settler.

T10: Border expansion. Incense spotted just northeast of borders. Berlin hits size 2. Not sure what to build, as the trees will get chopped next turn. Decide on a Barracks.

T11: Barracks completed. Wroker begins irrigation

T13: *3* game spotted south of berlin. Our next city must go there.

Interturn: Pottery comes in. Berlin switched to Granary. Started Iron Working@min science.

T14, 16: More incense spotted to the south.

T18: Incenses 4 and 5 spotted southeast. Berlin size 3 now. Lux tax up.

T20: Game saved and passed on.

Suggestions: The next city must go south of Berlin, where it gets 3 game without border expansion.
Get some incense.
Use the warrior to scout in a circle-shape around Berlin.
Mine a plains tile, let Berlin grow. Shoot for +5food/turn.
Shall I tell you more things that you already know?

The Save

I attached the start point.

Good turn,

Erik Mosey <--- Just played
Grimjack <--- Playing
Despot <--- On Deck

*REMEMBER CIV 3 1.29, NOT PTW*

I'll join if no one has anything against it. PM me if I'm next and no sign of me:)

P.S:
You will see a rather interesting message upon opening the save file. I'd rather you didn't post it until one player rotation has been completed. Signed,
Chancellor Erik of the Germans.

I got it, and will start play in minutes.
Grimjack

Here is a preliminary dotmap, based on the somewhat sparse recon.

(EDIT) Hmm, sorry about broken image. Will see if I can draw a new one. I am not used to Paintshop yet, and in spite of the image being a large one, when I try to open it, I get only the thumbnail.

Grimjack

3000BC(0) Doublecheck version, to make sure I play 1.29f.
Draw up a preliminary dot-map. I will settle green dot, other rulers will have to decide
if the dotmap is too close, and if we need settlers/workers more than we need luxes.

We are producing a solid 6 spt, and making great progress towards Granary.
No sign of any surprise message...

IBT: Nada

2950BC(1) zzzz

IBT: zip

2900BC(2) Cannot resist popping a goodie hut, and gets barbarians

IBT: Our warrior goes down to three HPs, but defeats the barbarians. Berlin finishes Granary,
set to settler at max spt. ( Growth in 5, settler in 5 )Worker finishes irrigating.

2850BC(3) Worker set to roading

IBT zilch

2800BC(4) zzzz

IBT Dito

2750BC(5) Snore

IBT Nothing

2710BC(6) Move worker to Floodplains

IBT: Nope

2670BC(7) Worker roads

IBT: Berlin Settler-> warrior ( Want another scout. )

2630BC(8) Reduce luxes, and check tiles in Berlin. We get one more shield for one less gold, same food.
Find coast to the west.

IBT: ......

2590BC(9) NOthing to report

IBT: Nothing

2550BC(10) Move settler to green dot, worker starts to irrigate Floodplains for another three food tile.

I could not find a better place to settle than on green dot. It is possible to have a city with three game and
two cattle, but I think that may very well be overkill. Could be something though.

Good luck to next player. Here there be a save:
