This is a poll to determine if we should overhaul the debate structure.

Under our current system, debates can be found in the Citizens Forum two days after nominations and consist of roughly 10 questions for all candidates. These threads are stickied and sorted by Government Branch. Candidates are encouraged to answer these questions and post a speech, if desired. Currently, there is no discourse allowed in these threads, between candidates or from the public.

It was recently proposed that we adopt a policy of actual debate that would allow candidates to respond to an opponents platform, and as well would let citizens ask questions of the candidates.

Would you support a change in practice that would allow actual debate between candidates?

Please vote Yes, No or Abstain.

This poll will run for 72 hours. There is no quorum and a simple majority is required.

NOTE: If votes for an overhaul are successful, then there will be follow-up polls on location and timing of the debates.

Yes we should....I guess I have been too busy meddling in some of the other threads.... ;) I will start a new discussion thread on Monday, unless you think the existing thread will work.

Also, can you use your mod powers to shut down this poll? It looks like I left the meter running.....

You should be able to use the same thread. That way the people who have participated will automatically know that discussion is continuing.

The poll is closed. You accidentally put a 72 day run time instead of 2 day.
