Currently we have only one city, Noshuret, which is population 2, and will complete a settler in 8 turns.

I am concerned about food production in the area we have settled. Until we discover another form of government, I believe the maximum size our capital will grow to is 7, and even that is going to take a long while. New cities founded in this area may well have the same problem, but we still may want to consider moving the capital at some point.

Actually, I believe that the land to our SW is more fertile, as there is grassland there.

If we irrigate the plains wouldn't our capital be able to reach size 11 while still in despotism?

Yeah. You are right. However, it is going to take 20 turns for each point of growth once we break 6. We need to build a granary before this...

I'd like to apply to be mayor of our 2nd city, Gorina, which will be built next turn chat.

You mean mayor? I would prefer someone who doesn't already have an office, since many people are jobless at the moment.

We could always "Size 12(11?)" Noshuret by sending workers from our more fertile(hopefully) cities to join the capital. Doing so would ensure that Noshuret becomes a production powerhouse early on.

Of course, we must remember to have the necessary happiness items in place(temple, martial law) before doing so.

yeah, but so far it's the only city we have. :)

True, CT, definitely not an issue this term. But something to discuss now if we are thinking of a Granary. :)

I would like to apply for Mayor of Gorina. I have no other position and have plenty of experience being a Mayor. I will serve you well :) .

I too would like to offer my services as mayor of Gorina. Although the other applicants are eminently qualified, I have honed my governance skills over thousands of years ;)
Also, I do not currently hold any other position to distract me from my duties.

Might I convince one of the candidates to be mayor of the capital, Noshuret instead?

I would hope that the Almightyjosh take the Capital. He is more suited for the higher seat in government. Besides, I'm now ruler of Gorina in the RPG, I thought Mayor of the same city in the Demogame would help the flow of my game. :D

A most amicable solution, it is agreed. Thank you Cyc, eyeri.
Now, where to put my palace... ;)

Yes, it's fitting that our most esteemed demogame governor take reigns of the capital. :D

BTW, did you know that in DG2, we got a GL when we took Thebes (one of the last cities to fall before domination - filling out the cities of Asphinxia)? We named it after you.
