City Functions

This is an informational poll to determine the primary functions of Noshuret, Gorina and our soon to be founded third city.

I don't think we should build another Settler in Noshuret, as the terrain won't allow quick growback.

Also, Noshuret won't be able to take part in a Palace pre-build since it's the capital. So I wouldn't choose it for Wonders until we had the tech to build an actual Wonder, and that's risky.

The stated plans for Noshuret exhaust all 4 options for me so unfortunately, I have no choice but to vote Other:

Noshuret: Military
Gorina: Settler factory, then Wonders
3rd city: Settler/worker factory, then Military or Wonders.

NOTE: If we choose the grassland sites S and SW of Gorina as our 4th and 5th cities, we could use those as Settler factories and free up our 2nd and 3rd cities for bigger better things.

cos I've got to agree with Don. Millitary is the only real possiblity for Noshuret, eventually it may make metropolis classification but that will be a while.
Clearly then, we need Gorina to start pumping out those settler and then workers.
Our third city? Well, we'll see in time.

I voted other also. I know this is only an informational poll, but the options are not well presented in this form.

As I've stated in the Gorina City thread and your thread, eyrei, Gorina should produce up to 3 Settlers and then start on Cultural and growth improvements. I would also like to see Gorina build Wonders in the future, but not prematurely. The first Settler produced by Gorina should create a Settler/Worker Factory city (possibly Cattle/Fish as Shaitan suggested), and then the second and third Settlers could could go in a Southeasterly direction.

Noshuret should stick with military and growth (if possible). Cities created after these three should just do the best they can with whatever they've got available to them.

I believe the Settler we got in route should go directly SE of Noshuret, on the coast. I know it took the road to get to its current locale, but it should not stay so far south if Gorina will produce a Settler for that area. We also need to think about those Dyes. Where will that Settler come from?

I think it's too early to slap city functions on right now, and I definitely can't see wasting Gorina's potential on Workers. Workers are not the drastic emergency that some would have us believe.

Option 3 is the closest to what I'd like but not quite there. As noted above, Noshuret should be the military producer. Gorina should produce settlers until a new settler production center is founded. Once we have one or two other cities making settlers/workers Gorina should be a growth center and wonder producer.

My vote is other.

For reasons stated in previous posts, use Noshuret for military until we get to a population level which would support something else, if ever.

There is really insufficient information here to make an informed choice about the other 2+ towns because we don't know which one will be settled next. It would be helpful to have production stats available too, for a choice of this magnitude.

I voted option 2, since I do feel that Gorina's future is granary-settler-settler-etc.

However, I agree with the "other" posters that using Noshuret for military units makes more sense for the immediate future than wonders does. I rarely find myself having time to build wonders of my own until I am pretty much done with the initial expansion phase.

I have the same doubts expressed by Shaitan. Option 3 is closest, but not spot-on. It's close enough for me to not choose 'other'. My suggestion: First use Gorina for some settlers until either 'Cattlefish' or '8 hills' can take the role as settler/worker factory.
Nosh: it seems most exploring and AI's are N and E, so this is the site for military. When Gorina is freed of 'settler duty' it can be our production powerhouse we intended it to be for Wonders and other needed buildings.

I like option 3. It gives the best balance going forward

I voted 'other' - much the same reasons as above - option 3 is close, but not quite there

3rd City (Offically Penguinadua) isnt that big of a food producer. Looks like it may be a military/wonder city SPT wise.

Anyway, now that we have more cities, it will be easier to apply a single category to them.

Now you know how mine are like.

But, 3 is the closest, althought not exactly what I wanted, so I selected other. We can not even have a palace prebuild yet, so Masonry should be priority #1. Why? The Great Library. It's the #1 most important wonder if we want to gain a lot of income. To do that, we need workers.

So, Nar Shaddaa should be the primary worker factory, along with Penguin, which can also build settlers. Noshuret should build settlers as well, with Gorina using a Palace prebuild for TGL.

No Settlers or Workers from Noshuret, please. It won't be able to grow back as quickly. It should become our Citadel(military producer).

I agree. Noshuret will be inefficient as anything but a Citadel.
