Turn 55- Tech Importance

Here is a poll of the techs that has not been researched. Since my suggestions dont realy help then lets just see what is the most important tech through the eyes of our citizens. Please vote. THEY ALWAYS COUNT.

Writing was not added to the post because we are trading for it and it is clearly the most valuble to get for a trade.

This poll will be open for 48 hours, in which I will make the tech que.

I'm not gonna vote yet, but I am very excited about the republic and map making.

Anyway, why vote philopsphy instead of republic and similiar things?

Also, Amirsan, what is your vote and why?

I think this would have been better done as a multi-select poll (and have everyone vote for say, 3 or 4 techs) because there are a handful of techs that are extremely helpful.

As it is, I voted for Republic as that tech will likely be the most beneficial to us (of those that we haven't already researched).

I dont think getting this now would be too benificial. A stage of anarchy would put us more behind then we are right now (7 turns does make a difference

) At least Map Making would give us more for our money. Discovering the next continent would be more helpful and more valuble then changing government right now.

I'm for map making at the moment but republic is a close second. Mapmaking is closer and has more trade possiblities.

My response was a direct response to your query: "Which tech is most important to me in this age?"

Coincidentally, neither Map Making nor Republic are obtainable at this precise moment. At this moment, the most important tech to us is Writing, which, in my humbly opinion, is why we should not have abandoned that research.

If this were a multi-select poll, and we were allowed to pick three techs that are most important to us in this age, I would have picked Map Making, Republic and Horseback Riding. Map Making for the ability to colonize the island SW of us, Republic for a better form of government, and Horseback Riding for a potent (and upgradeable) weapon in the fight to protect our way of life.

Yes, i didnt add writing because
1. We are going to get it through trade
2. It is already the most important because it is the prequisite of almost half of all techs.

And yes, I shouldv'e made it multi choice. I wonder if theres a way to change it now???

The three most important techs to me right now is the same as FortyJ's except for the Republic. In place for Republic I put Literature.
For the reason is not for the GL. It is clearly for the Libraries. A powerful culture producer and science rate booster. nother reason for Lit. is trade. If our opponents dont have it yet they would clearly pay big $$$ for it.

I would have voted Monarchy had I known someone else voted for it too, but I went with horseback Riding because we need the Riders. I don't care for this format in a Science poll either. Some day I'll run for Science Leader.
