I don't have a PS2, so I've had to wait for Grand Theft Auto: Vice City to come out for PC. I got it last week and haven't stopped playing it since. Anybody else out there enjoying this amazing game?

I have played about 20 hours of this game this weekend, boy it is good.

I seem to have completed all the missions and have had no finale

So, I'm going around trying to buy all the property in town as that might trigger something else.

Needless to say, this game is terrific :yeah:

Graphics: 9/10 At least on my machine the city looks stunning, though the pole dancers could do with a bit of work ;)

Gameplay: 9/10 Alot to see do and kill.

Plot: 8/10 Hints of Scarface...A very fun plot with alot of well portrayed characters from Lance Vance Dance to the band Love Fist -que ALOT of comic British slang.

Music: 9/10 Alot of great bands make up the radio stations.

Ideas: 9/10 There is so much packed into this game which is a vast improvement on GTA3. Helicopters, remote control bi-planes, buying places, clothing, motorbikes and a vast array of weapons from flamethrowers to knuckledusters and machine guns. The best ideas are those involving missions which are often varied and interesting as are the people you are working for.

Repetition: 7/10 -alot of driving back and forth across town.

Verdict: Get it if you have the machine to make the beast perform.

:goodjob:

You will need to buy and complete the missions for most of the properties. I managed to trigger the final missions without buying the dock.

I wonder if the Pole Position mission will be the same as in PS2 version?

That one was tough ;)

It most definitely has a Scarface(Pacino version) feel to it.Right from the opening sequence.BTW have you found the scarface chainsaw drug deal apartment from the movie yet?

The final mission cannot be triggered unless you own both the Printing Works and the Malibu Club. I'm currently stuck on this mission. An infinite number of thugs runs up the staircases towards your office, even after you kill Lance. I think i'm supposed to run down and kill Sonny, but it's difficult with all the goons around. Next time i'll try to saturate the area with grenades or molotov cocktails and make a dash for Sonny.

The bathroom covered in blood? Yep, that was funny!

I just love the radio stations: Sometimes I just cruise the city listening to the radio :D Bring back the 80s !!!!

That English chap (Paul) is also hilarious, although I've had some trouble understanding his slang. :)

This is definitely one of the best parts of the game. I'm glad they brought back Lazlow and Fernando. The public radio station (VCPR) is also hilarious, especially when they come on and ask for donations ("All we're asking is that you contribute 10% of your income!").

I think that using real songs rather than made up ones like in GTA 3 really improved the realism. Vice City really looks and sounds like 1980's Miami, even more than Liberty City looked and sounded like present day New York.

The Viking interview is very funny.

Yes scarface apartment is apt 3d.Its not easy to find though.

Have you found the chocolate easter egg?

I could give a fool proof walkthru for the final mission...but I won't ;) :p

Just been looking at some player's screenshots at gtaforums.com and I must say it looks sweet with the added horsepower of a PC..providing you can get it working.

Seems they have added a nifty replay feature. Many spectacular events needed a second look when I played

I have the PS2 version.

It rules.

I am stuck on the help Lance Vance mission. I always just barely miss getting him out.

This took me a few tries also. Have a fast but strong car ready (a Sentinel or Admiral will work) and smash through the two cars blocking the entrance of to the junkyard. Run over anybody in your way. Get as close to the shed with Lance as possible, then jump out and waste everybody around (there's a sniper atop one of the buildings so watch out). After everybody guarding Lance is dead, run in and save him. If you were quick enough, he should still have some health left.

Getting him out is harder. Take the Sentinel next to the shed and put the pedal to the metal, cause Diaz's goons will be chasing after you. They come after you in 3 cars, so get to the hospital as quickly as possible.

... dial 1-800-PILLAGE  ,also the movie-ads "ratet R for ********" ;)

Before you pickup the bombs kill ALL the workers/guards in the building and locate the bomb planting positions.

Then you should be able to fly they bombs in without worrying about getting attacked or wondering where to plant them. My advice is to plant the bombs at the nearest bombsites first and work your way up.

Hope that helps ;)

:)

My advice was to plant the farthest first and work your way down  .This is why GTA series are great games.Numerous ways to complete missions.

The RC helicopter is my least favorite vehicle.A real pain to control.Just keep practicing.Thank goodness the normal helicopters handle perfectly.

WHOO-HOO! Just finished the game! After getting rid of Lance with Grenades, I went back down to the office and shot everyone inside. Then I inched my way out until I had room to kill any thug that ran up the steps, but still had a clear shot of Sonny. A few hits with the Assault Rifle and he was down. Now I rule Vice City!

I still have a few more missions to do though. I can't seem to beat Hillary the driver in the race. I don't know how they expect you to win when he has a Sabre Turbo and you have a measley Sentinel. I guess just hope he runs into oncoming traffic or something.

I've also collected more than half the 100 hidden packages. I checked online and if you get 90, you get a tank. If you get all 100, you get an Apache helicopter capable of doing vigilante missions!

Unless you are some kind of super gamer, methinks an online guide is needed to get all 100 packages. There are at least 2 that are near impossible to find without some inside knowledge.

LOL..The Driver is maybe the hardest mission in the game...but again, there is a full proof way..well almost fullproof.
hint:no rule says you have to stay in the Sentinel :)

You must finish the Driver so you can do The Job, which is a very fun and tough mission

thx, I'm going to try that soon. I got so p!ssed off at that mission that I stopped trying and went on to do the other missions (assasinations, killing diaz, love fist, etc), but I'm gonna try again now.

Also, does anyone know how many cherry poppers I have to sell until that I get regular money from it? I was up at 93 before I was stupid enough to get myself busted

You only need to complete 50 in a row, then exit the Mr. Whoopee. It helps to keep moving; stay in one place too long and the fuzz will come after you. This should let you collect $3000 each day.
