I was playing my mod and realised something was missing
Basically, I was hoping for an old petrol car (ford or something) with a driver and a rifleman passenger. Simple: An improvised military car. Sound cool?
I have an old book here that's dedicated to armoured cars, it's a shame I cannot share the photos today, there are no useful diagrams but I will try to scan something tommorow.
This is a drawing of the French Hotchkiss armoured car of 1909. It was exported to Turkey and would fit the role.
All these vehicles predate tanks, and were used as wheeled scouts or sometimes as light artilery. They weren't very good off-road.
The Hotchkiss' gun on the back was mounted in an unshielded turret. IMHO, this car looks better from the front.
The Panhard Genty (1905) might make a better unit as it has no turret and just looks more like an improvised vehicle. Sadly, I could find no images online
---
The Charron Girardot et Voigt (1903) was the first French fully Armoured Car.
The following drawing is not it - I suspect it's a later model based on the same design. I have a small photo infront of me. While the drawing's shape and dimensions are more or less accurate (clearly looks like the same vehicle) - the actual pieces of metal (and overall finish) are all wrong
I think the original varient looks nicer.
