Again, I will post in support of one option in a purely non-official capacity...
Although it makes Capitoline quite large, Option One is clearly superior. There is no need to restrict ourselves to the 'land bridge, it does not form any real border. The best borders lie on mountain ranges, always have, and option one follows the lie of the land very well.
Additionally, it places the Capital at the heart of the capital province, as is fitting (our attempts to do otherwise last DG were disasterous).
Thirdly and most importantly, we must consider the impact of this border on the neighbouring provinces... If we take option one, 'Old Egypt' province (not officialy named) will have consistantly logical borders, and a decent, well populated heartland. It would also allow any conquered Egyptian cities to be immediately placed in an established administrative block.
On the other hand, the second proposal would mean 'Old Egypt' would be little more than mountains and deny any possibility of being a 'great' province.
To illustrate my point, I will show you a projection of borders for the next provinces for each option:
Option one would engender:
Option two would engender:
See how much more logical and clear option one is? This vote is only for the border of Capitoline, but it has ramifications that will affect all borders to come on this continent!!
