American national anthem booed by French people.

Though booing and whistling during the national anthems
is a cheap and sad thing - no excuse for these idiots here - it's quite a common thing at football matches.
I am quite sure this has got nothing to do with USA in particular.
Woud have happened to any other team.

BTW, this reminds me a lot of the last "anthem-booing" scandal in France - when the french anthem was booed in the Stade de France during France-Algeria a year or two ago.

I'm in the camp that firmly believes that rabid fans of any sport are complete and total idiots.
I think that belief in one's country is a noble thing, no matter what country it is, and insulting that by disrespecting a national anthem or flag is very low-budget and mean-spirited. Making fun of hygiene or beer is one thing, but to me there's just something a little sacred about symbols of longstanding national pride.

I also think that booing an anthem is disrespectful, but I think that the American moral entity has well deserved this. Such foreign policies such as "liberty fries" doesn't make you any friends.

I think the whole childish rivalry between these nations is fostered and perpetuated by mostly ill-educated, bored goons.
