    Go-Home-Xerxes - unfilled (Civanator temporaryMayor)

I expect that each one of you posts a proposal for a buildqueue before each turnchat. This time your proposals have to be posted by Wednesday, July 9, 8am EDT (1200 GMT). ; that is 1 hour before the "turnchat" (I am still hoping the game will be played out in the open and not behind closed doors).

For now these are my priorities.

    Your Governor,
    Rik Meleet
    Governor of Esquiline Province
    Trade Deputy

Deear Governor,

Congratulations on your recent election! I am writing to you now mostly to ask for your assessment of the impact our impending revolution will have on your province. Specifically, are there any projects in your cities that you would like to see completed before anarchy sets in?

Also, a goal of my presidency is to bring the focus of the demogame back to the forums. To do so I need the help of all of our elected leaders in getting pertinent information onto the forums. By making information readily available (i.e., without having to look at the save) I think we can both increase citizen participation and enjoyment! Here is an old thread from an ex-governor (yours truly). Please note the first post in particular. It contains a listing of the province's cities, their build queues, etc. I think it would be very beneficial if you could include something similar in this thread. Of course, I'm sure you can come up with something even better. :)

I encourage you to continue your efforts to get local politics off the ground. By actually listens to your mayors you should be able to atttract dedicated citizens to those positions.

Your proposed canal is a great project. I support it and the connection of your province's cities via roads.

Finally, I would like to point out that the first term 3 turn chat will be held on Wednesday, July 2, at 8:30 pm eastern US time.

Thank you,
donsig

ps - Have you heard from Gladiatus lately?

Rik Meleet! I congratulate you on your re-election to Governor of this fine Province. I proudly follow your career in politics, no matter where it takes you. Prost, my friend.

You seem to have a good handle on the situation, and advice from President donsig is always good to listen to. I remember wishing I could be as good a Governor as donsig.

Good luck in populating the beautiful countryside here in Esquiline. I'm sure you'll do just fine.

Cyc

No, Nar Shaddaa and Skunkworks are too small to build something fast and it takes around 6 and 8 turns to complete the worker or spearman. I would like our cities to be connected when the anarchy is over with. And I also would like 2 or 3 settler pairs coming our way to build the canal and another city to prevent Esquiline becoming only half Fanatican.

Thank you Mr. President.

You have my full support. I have PM-ed you for the source code of time you were Governor so I can implement the same setup, of course altered to my style, in Esquiline Province.

I have. He congratulated me on both Governorships. He is still sad that I and you had to leave Gorina. I asked him to come to Esquiline province, but he prefers Gorins and who can blame him? I told him I would count on him to train our troops in case we need to fight the other civs for Esquiline province. He is eager to do this.

Cyc: Thanks for your faith in me and your support.

Rik Meleet
Governor of Esquiline Province,
Trade Deputy,
Nice guy.

To the Governor of Esquiline Province:

Governor Rik Meleet, I am very proud to say that in naming the Northern canal city in Esquiline, I chose one one the finest names in Roman History. Palatine shall shine, as one of Fanatica's leading Port cities. A sister gateway from the Middle sea to our huge Bay (which I'm sure you'll name later ;) ), Palatine will help expedite commerce and Troop movement.

A toast to the city of Palatine and the Province of Esquiline!

It's my pleasure to announce that I have appointed 2 Mayors and 1 semi-Mayor.

I have appointed ScorpiusAP as Mayor of Palatine.

I have appointed Public Defender Vander; nicknamed "Public thé Vander" as Mayor of Klixus-Major. He has found time besides his tasks as our public defender to take up this position.

I still have the cities of Go-Home-Xerxes and Noldodan's City Mayor-less.

The Deputy-Governor of Esquiline province, Civanator has shown interest in a mayorship. Combining the 2 situations I decided to appoint Civanator as stand-in Mayor for both cities. He is free to take up Mayor-ship of one of them permanently or choose one of our cities-to-be-build.

Governor of Esquiline province,
Rik Meleet

Dear Rik Meleet,

Here is the latest Subbmitions for the Future Build Queues after it has finished the Settler in slot 3.

Code:
Nar Shaddaa

[i]Temple, Granary, Settler,[/i] Barracks, Spearmen (X2), Library

Please take note that the ones marked in italics are already in, the rest is for the future when the 1st 3 slots are done :).

Also, I was wondering if it is possible to be the Provance's Attorney General. Here is a little about it.

From Webster's Dictonary
Attorney General:
The chief law officer of a nation or state who represents the government in litigation and serves as its principal legal adviser

The reason I am looking at this possition is that I am planning on going into the Judicary Branch in the future :). I still would like to keep my Mayorship of Nar Shaddaa :).

Thanks,
CivGeneral

Mayor, VP, stepped-down-JA, Mr CivGeneral:

First of all: I will be happy if you'd continue your Mayor-ship of Nar Shaddaa.

I don't think Nar Shaddaa should build a settler in slot 3. By the time that settler is finished we'd already have 3 or 4 settlers which can fill the gaps in Esquiline province and Capitoline province.
I'm also in conflict with your suggestion to build barracks and spearmen. Nar Shaddaa's designation was as a settler/worker factory. Of course when that is finished we can build rax and lib in Nar Shaddaa, but I think we'll be needing more workers at the time of your suggested barracks and not so many military. In case of a new war we can always change our minds, with the Leades' approval.

What tasks do you see as "Esquiline's Attorney General" ? Would you be some kind of judge in provincial matters or would you be the advisor to our National Government representing Esquiline Province's points of view in legal matters?

I am always happy to get advise from every side, but I would be neglecting my duties if I, or Civanator in my absence, wasn't representing Esquiline Province to our National Leaders.

Can you explain me (preferably in a PM) how you would see your tasks ?

Rik Meleet
Governor of Esquiline Province,
Trade Deputy

Dear Rik,

Hmm, you dont like my proposed queue? :(. Well, I have made an alternative queue.

Code:
Nar Shaddaa

[i]Temple, Granary,[/i] Library, Workers (X2)

Thanks,
CivGeneral

PS: Ive sent a PM to you about the Attorney General.

Dear Governor,

I am writing to you regarding your desire to rush a settler in Klixus-Major. I think it is a splendid idea, what with the Persians on Esquiline and the Babylonians sailing about of your province's coast. However, I do not think governor's have the aurthority to spend from our treasury. I suggest you contact the Domestic Department on this matter straight away and seek funding for this very important project!

Thank you,
donsig

Once the brave citizens of my city are rushed to settle to the south, my city will be much smaller and unable to help settle until the population gets larger. Therefore, I have authorized the "Let's have lots and lots of babies" Program; abbriv: LHLALOB. In the meantime, this is what I think my fair city should build:

(rushed) settler
spearman
barracks
worker

I haven't got the figures on growth and spt after that, but i think that worker will come out sometime around the size three growth. Governer, It would be great if you could give me some more exact information as to growth and shields for my city. Using a mac, I can't open the save.
Thanks,
Vander

Once again, excellent work Governor Rik Meleet. I see you've been very busy and working hard to bring your new Province online.

Normally, a request for funding a rush from the Domestic Department requires a post in the budget thread, although I'm not sure if we have one at the moment. If not, simply make a post in the Domestic thread and request the funding there. Good Luck.

The stats are great and so are the maps! Carry on.

Thank you Mr. President for your advise regarding the request to the Domestic office for a cash-rushed settler. I have made the request here.

@ Vander. If you look at the first post in this thread you can see all the citzens, shields, commerce, food, buildqueues etc. you need. Also enjoy the picture of our province.

@ CG. I like you proposal with a library in slot 3 better than the barracks. It suits the plan to make Esquiline the Cultural and Economic heartland of our Nation nicely. But I am not sure yet.
Since it will take probably longer to build than the turnchat (still hoping) I invite you to discuss it after the next turns are played.

@ Cyc. Thank you, my mentor.

@ All: I will post my instructions in the game play instruction thread before the appointed time. Feel free to advise me; it will be taken into consideration.

Dear Mr Governor,

I noticed that Skunkworks is currently set to produce a Settler, but it will acquire enough shields a long time (5-7 turns estimated) prior to growing to the necessary population. I mistakenly thought there was no time before the next play session and posted Domestic instructions to change this settler to something else (my suggestion is a spearman). While I continue to support the right of Domestic to correct errors in queues and balance production, I would prefer to have governors handle it themselves. I hope this proposed change in production meets with your approval.

Thanks! :)

Governor Rik,

A city build plan proposal and discussion can be found here.
Your opinions on this matter would be highly valuable, as would your projections on settler production. Opinion is leaning toward the Highlands region being among the nation's highest priority for settlement, thus your input on the plan is critical for its success. :D
