Welcome to the bench. I know that our judicial system is in good hands with you presiding over it.

Keep in mind that part of your responisibilities involve the admittance, and dare I say the recruitment, of new members. Given some of our recent participation numbers and the fact that a majority of those who have posted in the Roll Call thread have no interest in playing an active role in the game, I believe this makes your position one of the most important of the term.

Of course, this cannot be done alone, nor would it be fair to entrust this awesome responsibility in its entirety on you alone. So do not hesitate to recruit other positions to the court to assist you in this endeavor. As I said earlier, I know that we are in good hands. I look forward to seeing what we are capable of under your guidance.

FortyJ, I greatly appreciate your words of praise. Such words are a great compliment indeed.
So therefore, in the intrest of justice and my impartiality, I have decided to appoint some sort of prosecutor. His job shall be that of a typical prosecutor: In the event of an accusation (criminal or civil) he shall act as the representative of the Nation and it's people.
I have also decided not to have this person elected. I feel it is in the better intrests of the state that this person is not elected because they may be chosen of name or recognition. Because this precident may become law someday, I wish to recieve the president's approval of my apointment as prosecutor.
I plan on opening a thread for people to request nomination in a few days. Until that time, feel free to discuss my proposal.

An interesting proposal Justice Vander. I will think on this more. In the meantime, perhaps you could more clearly spell out the official role and responsibilities of such a position.

I'd like to have this prosecutor picked now, before anything happens. For if I appointed one at the time of the incident, it could be viewed as biased if I were to pick certain people.
The prosecutor shall act as the attorney for the state. Should some charge be brought against someone, it should be the prosecutor giving it. If the state is accused of some transgression, the prosecutor shall defend it. The prosecutor needs to act as the Judiciary in any way that I cannot (I must remain unbiased in anything for the sake of Justice and all). The Prosecutor makes sure that the laws/ precidents are followed accordingly.
It is my position to ultimately decide if something is wrong or not. The Prosecutor brings it to the attention of the people.

Now, I am pretty sure I would rather not appoint a Public Defender. I feel that the accused should choose an attorny for themselves (if any). But of course, my mind can be changed by a good arguement (or a need for company in my office *echo* office office...).

I'm sueing the press secretary for not PMing me about this whole leader scandal. I think his lack of informing me prevented us from capturing Chandragupta.

@Vander - I am interested in applying for Judical Intern, I have posted my Application in the Procicuters (Dang its getting late and I cant even type and spell right now ). I wish to gain experiance in the Judical office so that I can transfer my skills to the Single Player Demogame Judicary Department.

Ok. I'm back. I had fun out of town in Portland. It was weird though; on the plane ride back, looking at the farmland of western Idaho, I thought of how much more food Boise would need to expand to it's next city size (I figured Boise is a 6, maybe 7). Anyway, I'm back and I'm very pleased that nothing (Judicial) has happened.

OFFICAL COMMENT

As Justice of the Court (wow, I get to do something!), I see little to warrant a complete exile of Octavian. All that he has done to damage our position is by giving Poly some screenies of some backwater GCA cities. By the time the Poly Empire spans to this region, these cities will ethier be ours or not exist. Further, I think that Octavian's actions were out of friendship with Poly, not some sort of malicious plan to sabotage the CFC team.
The only punishment warranted is a stern warning. Anything else is enflamed, parinoid scape goating. Octavian should come to the Administration first, get confirmation, then offer whatever it is to Poly.
