It would be really nice if two or more civs could merge to become one nation with all the benefits of the member nations, such as UUs and traits. If you join a superalliance, you automatically gain control of it without the AI controling your units. In these superalliances, the member nations' capitols can act like the provincial capitols I alk about below.

In large nations, you could divide the nation into provinces with their own capitols, yet the effects of the provincial capital could be less than the national capitol. In reference to civil wars, particular provinces that are plagued with unhappiness could declare independence or do a mass cultural conversion.

What do the rest of you think about that?

dig deeper and submit something to the civ4 development team...

they don't even have countries splitting yet...like civil war (they took it out)

I think that it would be a unfair way to gain extra power. And I am sure that in the harder difficulty levels the AI will become a tribuute demanding superciv.

I posted my idea for provinces in a seperate Civ4 post, which happened to be similar to yours, CadetEmperor. Take a look at the short overview in the first page of CivVI Lounge and Chat, or the whole thing in "Ideas for Civ4", in the second to last page. That should hopefully get your imagination running!

Edit: Btw, those are in the General Discussions Forum. ^^; sorry.
