Meh
So I'm going to use Plexus's European map in a pretty self-explanatory NES. After this, I really don't feel like starting any more NES's or participating in more than 1. Maybe 2 if I feel like it. Or maybe I'll just quit like Stallin or Skilord. Either way, here's the jist of it.

It's 500 AD, well after the fall of the Roman Empire. I've magically taken all of the countries present at the time out, and made Europe empty save for little magic barbarians that hide in the forest.

You unite some sort of Barbaric people and start up a royal house. Eventually, you'll become a kingdom and so forth and so forth. Hopefully, we'll recreate as much of European history as possible.

The only NPC in the whole damn thing will be the Papacy (ok yes, so I got the idea from Plexus's old NES as well), but that's mostly because it'd be pretty dumb if someone took control of it. It'll be a tiny place that won't have much to do with anything except religious matters and so forth. If new NPC's appear over time, then it'll have a great hold over the Catholic ones.

You can start anywhere in Europe and Anatolia. Eventually you can expand into the middle east a bit, but it'd be pretty dumb if you did. Your early navy won't have much of anything going for it.

Economy: Horrific, Terrible, Bad, Stable, Good, Great, Excellent, Legendary, Paradise

Army: Now at 500 AD, every time you increase your army, it is increased by 1000 men. These are regular footsoldiers. If you wish to give them horses, or special equipment, then it's an additional economy level per 1000.

Navy: Unlike the Army, it increases by 10 ships every turn (now at 500 AD). These ships are barges so they can only transport your soldiers. Sea battles are fought by way of rams attached to the front of the ships. Your navy can also be used for trade.

Culture: This is a combination of both your cultural achievements and education. Goes like: Barbaric, Horrible, Bad, Standard, Good, Great, Amazing, Classic, Rennaisance

People's mood isn't easily affected. But if it's affected badly, be carefuly. It goes something like: Revolutionary, Angry, Unsattisfied, Sattisfied, Happy, Joyous. As you may have noticed, there's no middle ground.

Your goverment is a monarchy. It will stay that way for a long time untill new options are available.

Here's the template (an example).

Nation: The Kingdom of Burgundy
Ruler: King Soandforth II
Goverment: Monarchy
Religion: Catholicism/East Orthodox
Economy: Terrible
Army: 1000 Footmen
Navy: None yet
Culture: Barbaric

Military Conflicts of Europe

War of Burgundian Birthright: 520-550 A.D.

A conflict that began with King Clovis of the Franks, and Gundobad of the Burgundians, the quarrell became a war in 520 A.D. upon the death of Gundobad. His 4 sons, Sigmisund, Charles, Godomar, and Louis (from youngest to eldest) fight over his kingdom. This remains an inner conflict for two years untill Sigmisund strikes a deal with King Childebert of Parisian France. Childebert advances down to Burgundy with his well trained army and invades West Burgundy, the kingdom of Charles. Charles's army puts up a good fight and kills many Franks and Burgundians alike, but are eventually annhialated. As Charles prepares a defense of his biggest castle, he sends messangers to his other two brothers asking for help. Godomar agrees, but Louis decides not to, reasoning that he was the rightful heir to begin with. Charles eventually agreed to exile and left for Corssica, where he established the kingdom of Corssica. With that, Childebert and Godomar turned their attention to Louis. Within a few years, Louis died in an attempt to break the siege of his castle and all of Burgundy fell under control of France.

The Anglo Saxon War: 560-

King Alfred III of Northumberland attmpts to annex the Anglo Saxon lands to the South of him. To id him, Pope Pegalius orders the Scots, Anglo allies, not to attack Northumberland from the North. Victory seemed imminent, untill a party from the castle of Wessex (one of the 9 major Anglo-Saxon kingdoms) came to the halls of King Ragnar in 561 A.D. Ragnar immediatly sent aid, landing in Britian by 562 A.D. At that time, Alfred III had crossed the border and marched down into Anglo-Saxon country encountering minor resistance. He swiftly defeated the Saxons who tried to oppose him via. ancient Roman fortifications. However, only weeks later he was much less fortunate. At that time, the Northumberlandese and Norwegian armies first met. A great battle ensued, where many men died on both sides. However, thanks to the tactical know-how of Alfred III, the Northumberlandese escaped without suffering a tremendous defeat. For the next several years, Norway took partial control of Anglo-Saxon lands and fought many small battles with the Northumberlandese.

Great! I'd be very happy with 1 or 2 more people, but I think this is enough to start.

Europe, 500, A.D.

Throughout Europe, certain royalty become more distinguished than their peers. Among the 4 most powerful in the barbarian-infested continent of Europe are Andorra, Austria, Germany, and Norway.

Andorra is a tiny kingdom located in the Pyrannease mountains between the Frank and Visigoth kingdoms of the North and South. The mountanious terrain makes expansion slow, but gives the city of Andorra le Vella great importance to people travelling between Iberia and the rest of Europe.

In the Germanic lands of central Europe, two kingdoms stand out. The Kingdom of the German Monarchy is the most powerfull of the North Gothic despots. The small town of Berlin becomes the hub of bartering. To the South, Vienna becomes the most memorable part of the Danube river, and serves as a bit of a bridge of civilization between the Mediterranian lands of the South, and barbaric regions of the North.

Far to the North in the Scandanavian peninsula, the Norwegian Vikings are still uncivilized compared to their Southern peers. The one exception is the small kingdom of Norway, centered around the port of Oslo. Ruled by the legendary Viking king, Amon Savag, these Norwegians still believe in the Nordic Mythology of their ancestors, slightly upsetting the Catholic Church, who sends a missionary to Savag's Halls in around 500 A.D.

To: King Amon Savag of the Norwegians

We would wish for you to disband your pagan customs and join the holy Catholic church. Would you agree for us to establish a mission in Oslo within the next decade?

Description: Clovis inherited his father's kingdom in 481, at which time he unified the Salian and Ripurian Franks. In 486 he defeated the Roman general Syagrius who ruled northern Gaul out of Soissons. By 493 he married the Burgundian princess Clotilda. In 496, after defeating the Alamanni, he was baptized, thus becoming the first Christian ruler of post-Roman Gaul. By 506 the Alamanni were subdued, and the next year Clovis finished his expansion by taking Aquitaine from the weak Visigothic king Alaric II.
