What the heck is telefragged?

Since I was so eager to get to civfanatics , I typed in civfanatics.com and ended up at some site called telefragged. I assume that the address is being hacked, since there was no mention of this? Anyway, I circumvented it by going to forums.civfanatics.com, but this is something you should look into.

Telefragged is CivFanatics' host. What you saw was probably the ad that sometimes appears before the main page comes up.

yup... the forum was having some problems alittle while ago... maybe it had something to do with that?

It was not an ad... it was an entire site, and all the links said "civfanatics.com/whatever", but just led to more parts of telefragged. Is this some sick twisted form of advertisement, which is to be expected? I've never seen this before, and hijacking a browser to a site is certainly a strange way to advertise.

Telefragged is the host for Civfanatics. There are/were some problems accessing the main page, so you ended up at one of their pages. Not an ad. Not hijacking. Just an internet "oops!"

Yeah, I just had the same problem. The usual "civfanatics.com" takes you to the telefragged site. But "civfanatics.net" takes you to the right place. Something must have gone bad in the last 6 hours because the .com was working ok earlier!

How about your learn to type the real url of CFC?
CFC is registered under WWW.civfanatics.com. Not without the www!!!
Means civfanatics.com is the hostname, but TF probably only paid for the full url, not the short redirect and TF (the company) took the redirect for themselves.

Maybe Telefragged did sneak itself into the short form, or Wilson simply has to pay a little more money.

www.civ....... gets you to the correct site

civ......com gets you to telefragged.

my favourites is linked to the short version.

Can TF get this back under control our do I have to change my listing?

OK, this is a normal thing, www.civfanatics.com goes to the right place, civfanatics.com goes to default (which is telefragged.com). I will have the httpd.conf reflect so both go to the right place.
