My apologies for all of these 11th hour suggestions, which will certainly prove maddening to governors who have already posted their queues.

However, I am a bit surprised that not one governor so far has planned for the fact that we will be able to produce Factories as of next turn(once we discover Industrialization). There are several cities that can be changed immediately from a current project so that we won't have to wait so long for a Factory to be built.

For instance, Noshuret and Penguinadua are producing Colosseums, which are of lesser importance at this stage. These can be switched to Factories once Indy is discovered.(NOTE: Noshuret is so far along on its Colosseum that it will take a considerable removal of mine laborers to keep from producing it this turn. If we miss this opportunity, we have to start the Factory from scratch.)

Also, Tyvek is currently building a Bank(2 turns left). If we switch to a Factory next turn, this may help our numbers for Rik Meleet's Daring Plan to Victory proposal.

Other cities to consider are Memphis, Skunkworks, New Jedina, Xak Tsaroth, Inadatto and more. I ask that all governors please assess this situation, preferably before the commencement of Wednesday's turnchat.

Thank you for your time. :)

Switch to the factories. We can use the increased production.
Just have some workers around for pollution.

My sources tell me that the environmental lobby is furious about this proposal. They say it will cause pollution and that the government won't be able to deal with it effectively. I hope we don't have mass protests and people throwing their shoes into the mechanical gubbins. How does Domestic feel about this?

Esquiline Province will comply. Skunkworks, Nar Shaddaa and Klixus-Major (to a lesser extent) are suitable locations for factories.

Of course if Domestic department disagrees due to the impact on the standard-of-living of the citizens, or Cultural department objects, for instance because of blocking the view of the cultural buildings or severely destroying the sky-lines, I won't propose the factories.

DZ most of the Capitoline cities which would build factories are designated for Wonder builds now, Factories in between could end up delaying it, however I will look into it more later (don't have time now as I have class soon). I should be able to take a look at 4 if not shortly before the turn chat...

My thinking was I could reevaluate the factory situation after this t/c seeing them mostly as a delaying factor with the Wonders and not of immediate need for most others (most cities which are set to build muskets are set that way due to the fact that nothing else was avalible after the previous builds. Some of these cities do need some Happiness upgrades though, so to say we don't need Coloseums is false.

Mr President, Domestic. Building a factory in Gorina and Tyvek immediately after ToE and bank/courthouse and cashrush it the turn after might save us some more turns and provide more security to nail both wonders. I hate to think about the cost though.

/me has done too much calculations. /me wishes he had a deputy to calculate this one ;)

The rush price will be roughly 800-900g apiece after 1 turn, and will drop by about 92g each turn in Tyvek. It will drop by over 100g each turn in Gorina.

So if we can let these two cities work on Factories for about 4 turns each, we can rush them for about 400-500g each.

As I am not currently looking at the save, these are just rough estimates. Keep in mind that with 3 Turns of 0% Science, we should have the available gold on hand.

What do you think?

Unfortunately, my province, let's call it Cælian, can't build factories at the moment. However, I do plan to build factories in my cities when their reconstruction is done. Right now, I need happiness and culture.

Understandable, Fier, and thanks for responding. :)

In the coming week, I can assist you in prioritizing your needs if you'd like.

Excellent so long as the rushes are approved though...

Falcon, I have the Powwa Stick. ;) I will approve the rush in Tyvek if you agree to switch from the Bank after we discover Industrialization. The stored shields will allow us to svae gold and get the Factory immediately.

And I will approve the rush (in 4 turns) in Gorina if we start a Factory immediately after ToE.

I'll check if that is desirable (how many extra shields we get) and post my opinion on delaying Gorina for a factory. I'll edit this post with the results.

edit: We can do this in Gorina if after 2 turns of ToE we do a max of 6 turns of factory and then rush it in the 6th turn. Assuming we are then at 35 uncorrupted shields we have a delay of around 200 shields of what we could have had if we'd gone for the US straight away. We are then at 51 spt, getting US (or HD) in 2 (ToE) + 6 (delay) + 800/51 = 2 + 6 + 15,8 = 24 turns. Which is still earlier than the 26 turns Persepolis requires.

To be save I'd cashrush the factory in Gorina in the 4th turn, getting it in 22 turns. Remember; the faster we build the Wonder (US) in Gorina the smaller the chance is that the Persians get Electronics and can jump to Hoover, destroying our 2-wonder plan. With this in mind; if we build the factory for 1 turn, cashrush it then and build the US after that we get it in 2 + 1 + 16 = 19 (or 2+2+16=20 in case I miscalculate).

So a factory in Gorina is doable, allowing the city to do around 50 spt, but don't build too long. 4 turns is my favourite.

Wow, by my gut feeling, I had already posted that exact request in the Instruction thread. :D

Great work, Rik!

how about a Courthouse rush if neccisary in Tyvek?

Right now 7 spt are corrupt!! not to mention 9 gpt we could really use that, esp. with the Factory.

EDIT: btw next time don't spam the Instruction thread with 4 posts.... give it time, I did that several times myself a LONG time ago.

Just saw that, Falcon, and I have the power to delete them. ;) :)

I would rather not rush the Courthouse, and it seems that Ravensfire did some math and agrees.
