Yes, by building a Great Wonder.

Yes, by capturing a Great Wonder.

No, I always trigger Golden Ages by winning a battle with a Unique Unit.

No, I have never had a Golden Age.

I've gotten it from building a Great wonder and winning a battle with my UU. I've never gotten my GA from capturing, but I have captured Great wonders before. It is the greatest feeling when your Military Advisor tells you the good news.

I usually get my golden ages thanks to wonders.

I thought the way it worked was after you have captured wonders with the needed traits, any wonder you build will trigger the GA.

Let me see if I understand this correctly. For example, if you are playing French (Comercial civ), if you capture the Pyramid, then build the Colossus, you will trigger your Golden Age. On the other hand, if you build the Colossus first then capture the Pyramid, you won't trigger your Golden Age.:)

I was able to captue an enemy city, i had a couple of Knits close to it. I wanted to make sure to get it so iwaited one more turn for reinforcement.

During that turn the oponent finished the sixtine chapel, and voila captured the sixtine chapel that turned on my GA.

One turn earlier, no sixtine chapel, no GA.

I think you understand correctly, but Colossus isn't a commercial wonder.

I triggered GA many times by building the Great Wonder, as for capturing one to be onest I didn't know for that rull but maybe it's happened before in my early games 5 -6 mounths ago when I was not awerig of that at all.

I've done it both ways before. I prefer getting by my UU though. Cause, usually when I'm getting with my UU that means I'm at war, and the added production really helps to turn the tide to your favor.

But the colossus IS a commercial wonder...the +1 gold to every square worked that has one gold is a dead giveaway...and it just says it in the civilopedia as well

That's not what my civilopedia says. I checked during a game and what mine says is correct.

I usually got a GA by building 2 Great Wonders, 1 for each of my civ's traits. The exception was my most recent game, when I played as the Romans, warmongered, & got a GA through my 1st Legionary battle vic.

The colossus is commercal. Check the editor. Go to Improvements and Wonders and look at the bottom left.
