Update!
The missile is complete ;) http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=73253

This is my third model and my first attempted Civ3 unit. I'm posting a preview for comment while I figure out all the nuances of FLICster and try to get this missile looking as Civ-like as possible.

Here is a preview rendering from the more or less the same viewpoint as will make it into the game:

Good unit! But the R7 was also used as a satelitte launcher, wasn't it? I guess the Vostok crafts were launched by them...

Yes they were and still are..... There's a huge number of launches being done every year with modified R7s. You can use it for your spy satellite transport, etc etc ;)

I am currently trying to tweak the civ colors, then some minor pixel work, and it will be more or less done.

I am almost done with everything except the PTW animations. They are too large to be extracted with FLICster, which is a problem if one wants to see a PTW-style launch. I really hope I won't end up having to write a utility for extracting those .flcs to storyboards. That would be no fun at all on the first unit ;)

Here is an in-game preview of the R-7:

And a preview of the pedia icons ;) :

If you mean the nuclear explosions, I think Be-Bro may have done some modifications to those files

Nice missile BTW, the world can always use one more nuke... :goodjob:

No, I've got a nuclear explosion (the default one from the ICBM). What I mean is, in PTW, the ICBM and tactical nuke get 2 extra animations in their respective folders in Civ3\Civ3PTW\Art\Units. These animations are larger than 240x240, so FLICster refuses to accept them. If I were making a Civ-style launch animation, I would want to copy and paste the launch trail from the ICBM launch animation. However, I cannot view it, export it, or work with it in any way (so far).

Looks good. I like the idea of making newer ICBMS. I do not like the fact that the big ICBM has a unlimited range, we need more realism.

You may want to correspond with Steph, who made the multi-figure unit utility, and storyboard builder. He may have some useful insight.
