Welcome to the Foreign Affairs Office

Once again Welcome! as of now there is nothing much here... but within a day that should change. Right now my biggest concern is our Nation at War. And I shall do my best to asses the situation and report to all other Country's positions.

I would also like to attempt to keep the Ambassador system put to life by our current President, previous Foreign Affairs Leader, Bootstoots. So if you are interested please post and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Also open is my Deputy, any help is appreciated and please this feel free to PM me or post here.

I would possibly like to apply for this deputy position. Foreign Affairs was my original aspiration in the DG, but I got idetracked by Culture and the Judiciary last game.

War_Mongrol: our current law and judicial reviews do not allow for the appointment of Deputies - they must be elected.

I am curious as to why you left no instructions for the President's turn chat yesterday. Perhaps your guidance could have prevented China from joining in the war against us.
 
To all Fanaticans:
Unfortunately due to reasons beyond my control I am unable to connect to the web. While I dare not say that I it is a leave of absence I do not truely know when my service will be restored. I only have a access when I am at College and that is if I can find an empty one. As I speak the chairs around me are beginning to fill with other students.
As I've mentioned I due ont truely know when I will have access again so I am somewhat reluctant to resign since it could very well be back up in a day or two. I will try my best to know no later than this coming monday. In the mean time I will try to relay what ever I can through my secratary LilHam.
I apologize for my lack of participation for the past few days which is a result of my dilema. And I apologize to all for me not being able to "be there" as things occur.

Then we need a FA-deputy ASAP. In these "interesting" times having no FA representative in the forum and the TC we are in deep trouble.

I suggest we appoint someone as FA-dep soon.

If necessary I'll volunteer, but I'd rather see someone else as FA-dep.
 
Perhaps I could appoint a temporary FA deputy. The appointed deputy wouldn't technically have any power but will still post instructions in the turnchat instruction thread and I will follow them (within reason) despite the fact that they are only informational. Any takers?

You need to fill this as you would any absent office. If they post instructions, and you follow them, that person has authority.

Follow the law on this one, please?

Well, it's either that or I do what I please for FA in the upcoming turnchat; the person would be an advisor rather than a leader; under your argument mayors who post build queues that the governor follows have authority too, and would therefore be subject to the law. This would be only a temporary appointment until a FA deputy can be decided or War Mongrol comes back.
 
I would have liked to have seen, along with the Governor special elections, nominations/elections for any vacant deputy positions. Even some effort would have been nice.

I don't see a problem with the President handling any FA issues if the FA Leader is unavialable. Appointing any deputy or temp FA Leader clearly goes against Judicial Reviews on this matter. Plus our President is the former FA Leader ;)
 
@Ravensfire - In the past in this game at least, the nomination and election of deputy leaders has been the job of the incumbent leader, if they chosen to do so.

@zorven - You do have a point...I'll do it myself ;)
 
It comes as a woeful moment as I must now post my absense of undefined time due to circumstances beyond my control. I must regretfully resign from foreign affairs leader and admit my failure to fanatica. Unfortunately I do not know the next time I will have access to the internet so I leave you wishing all the best of luck and long live fanatica.

I posted this in the Oct 8th instruction thread, and now need somewhere to discuss it. It falls partly within FA and partly within Trade.

Greece will give us 76gpt + WM + 60g for Flight. They are the only major power at peace who do not have it, so it's not like we're giving them something they can't get anywhere else. And they will throw in a MA against any combination of our current adversaries for no extra charge! :D
