They are the small wonder for Absolute monarchy: the counsil of Estates General. They are a consultive body on the Ancien Regime in France, destroyed by the French Revolution..

Allons enfants de la Patrie!

Hi RTF,

Another fine addition! -- Just note that, in general, it's translated as "Estates General" in English."

-- So I hereby close with a quote IIRC from the noted English playwright Tom Stoppard on the English language:

"We are tied down to a language that makes up in obscurity what it lacks in style."

Uhmrn, I know that my english is not so good... It's the reason that I like much painting than writing on this forum ? ;)

Trust me! -- Your English is fine. I almost only post about such things where I understand the English translation to either not be obvious or obscure in some other fashion -- hence the Stoppard quote ;) .

Best Regards,

Oz

You are a very gentleman, Oz... and I researched: the right word is relics instead reliquies (a sort of mix between latin and french, I think! :))

Indeed -- the, um, "artifact" itself is called a "relic", the vessel used to contain it is called a "reliquary".

"Con mortuis in lingua mortua",
