perhaps people should post their difficultly level as well.

Good point. I thought about that, but I don't remember being able to select a difficulty level. I selected the scenario and the Civ and, boom, I was in the game. I'll have to look into it. If I had it set at Chieften (default level for standard game), I'd be SOOO embarrassed. :o

Post a screenshot of the second and third tech trees :p

You CAN select your level. I think the excitement made you forget. :) Now, if you had accidently left it on Sid difficulty...

Thanks Chieftess, not likely. Well, it was fun to play. Everyone (except Sumerians) declared war on me (did they think I was weak?), so it wasn't that simple.

It's a neat scenario. You're right, I was excited and tired. :crazyeye: I should have gone to bed instead. :)

I play this one on Regent level a few weeks ago with the last public beta version. Selected a random civ - got Mycene! Way on the left edge of tha map. Except for a few exploring warriors, I never got to the actual Mesopotamia!

I was pretty much bottled up in modern-day Greece (the Hittites and I had each built a city on either side of the Bosporus, blocking movement for both of us). I was building troops so I could force some "elbow room", when, to my surprise, I saw a pop-up: "You have won a Wonders Victory!"

:D

*phew* Not so embarrassed. I found out my difficulty level was Regent on Normal Aggressiveness.

First post edited to denote difficulty level. Screenshots Added.

Yeah, definitely wouldn't want that Civ. Yikes!

Congrats on your victory, Colonel. Thanks for all your posts of screen shots and info. Hope to have my copy today or tomorrow.

Congrats, Kraken!

I hope to be able to post the results of my first Conquest scenario, the Aztecs in the Age of Exploration, by this weekend...

Were the blue civs the Sumerians or the Babylonians? ( I realise I should know, but my 'Times Concise History Atlas' is upstairs... and I'm lazy ).

Also who were Magenta?

Probably want to add that to the Bugs thread ...

As strange as it may seem, that fishy bug was intended. It's just the way the game works. Look at it this way - there's enough ponds in that tile (or lakes), that there's still plenty of fish there. BTW, marshes can also turn into coast. So, you'll have game, and oil in the coast.

How do they turn into coast??

Which seems more silly - Aquatic deer or a fish mine?

Oil in the coast isn't actually a bad idea at all - It's a damn shame that the North Sea Oil can't be modded into world maps other than on tundra tiles in any accesible way. Historically it's always been a good source for black gold for those who can't get access to the Middle East because of Turks or Texas because of U-boats.

Global Warming.

Though, I suppose that they could add in something like: "If the resource doesn't match its' changed tile (due to global warming, terraforming, etc.), then the resource must deplete with a message).
