We have sub forums called Civilization III, Civilization II, Civilization I, COLOSSEUM etc.
Time to start one called Civilization IV

The only thing to talk about for Civ4 right now is what we would like to see in it. So far, it doesn't exist, except as *vaporware*.Originally posted by WillJ
To those who oppose it: Why is a Civ4 forum worse than a Civ4 thread?
A Civ4 thread is a place we can suggest various ideas for the game. If there were to be a whole forum opened right now, it wouldn't really be a springboard for ideas so much as a spamfest for well dressed complaints with what people see wrong with III...maybe even I and II for that matter since there's some that didn't jump to III.Originally posted by WillJ

Well, its just that I imagine that in a thread there'll be many, many repeats of ideas because people aren't willing to read the entire thread. Whereas with a forum people can look at the thread titles and get a good idea of what's been said, and look into the threads if the title interests them, possibly giving Yea or Nea to the idea. I remember the Conquests thread a while ago. Then I remember the Conquests forum. I (and I'm sure the developers/marketers) had a more positive experience in the latter than in the former.Originally posted by Padma
Letting Firaxis know what we would like to see in it can be handled in a thread easily. Why waste a whole forum??![]()
1. What's wrong with that? I'm assuming if someone complains about Civ3, they're doing it because blah-blah-blah should be fixed, in their opinion. Which is partly what the Civ4 forum would/should be about.Originally posted by superslug

Because there's going to be at least one patch or more for Conquests. There's still plenty of oppurtunity to improve the game we've got.Originally posted by WillJ

Not in my experience as a mod.Originally posted by WillJ

The Conquest Forum was begun at the explicit request of Atari, who felt it was time for one....I remember the Conquests thread a while ago. Then I remember the Conquests forum. I (and I'm sure the developers/marketers) had a more positive experience in the latter than in the former.![]()
