This is a map I wanted to get since I had started playing the Civilization 3. Maybe it is
to big - 256*256 but it shows all Europe and Middle East. I've changed some rules:
- many of land units cannot go through mountains without roads (Settlers, Archers,
Swordmen, Pikemen, Longbowmen, Knights, Riflmen, Cavalries, Tanks, Mech. Infantries
and others)
- roman Legionary can build roads and found cities
- chineese Riders can build roads and forts
- french Musketeer can build cities
- optimal number of cities (corruption): 60

Here are 2 maps:
- without any sources and locations(Europe-nosources)
- with both of them (Europe-s-loc2.bic)
They are a bit different cause during locatind sources I've noticed some strange things
like a jungle somewhere in Europe or others.

Here is an image of it:

Hope it works cause I just started to play it.

Europe

The Chinese are on the south from Amu-Daria river, where Afghanistan should be. But I placed it there as the Mongols.

I love big maps of Europe- I'll get back to you on how it is. I wanna see how it will do in the modern age

There's something weird going on with the techs, they are at the same values as they SHOULD be, but they advance too rapidly. Think you could fix this?

Knight- I noticed that too! I couldn't play with this map as much as I wanted to b/c of that. lukaspl do you have any idea why this is happening?

It is happening because of the tech rate. This is in the "World Sizes" tab of the rules editor. I'll quote the help file:

Determines the global technology research rate for all civs playing on a map of the selected world size. The larger the world, the more cities can be built, therefore civilization advances can be more quickly discovered. Generally speaking, larger maps should have higher tech rates. The standard 100 x 100 Civ III world size uses a tech rate of 240.

The El Mencey 362x362 world map set at 750, and the TETurkahn mod is set at 500 for 256x256.

Hope this helps.
