Here is a rather large map of middle earth for all of you LOTR fans. I came up with 31 civs (i woulda put more if i could) to use in the what would of been my LOTR scenario, but that was before i had the patch so my file became corrupt. Some of the civs include the Numenorians, and various elvish tribes , because America is in the regular game with the English, even though America was a result of English expansion. I just like playing big and complicated. Now I will wait and resurrect the scenario later after I download all of these brilliant LOTR units i found on this newly discovered fansite.

Here's a link to a thread that is about a Middle Earth mod, if you want to join the discussion or process of making this mod.

I like your map I downloaded it a yesterday ago. It could you do with a bit more detail though and also Numenor was in the shape of a star and wasn't entirly forested.

Also I have made a scenario of my own and posted it in the mod section, if your interested.

Perhaps more plains than necessary, but good job!:goodjob:

I know, but ive never seen a LOTR map that tells you where to put grassland and plains. Plus I created it more to my liking, i never thought that i would find this site and actually get to share a map!

You made a pretty accurate map, I did not have the nerves to make it this large :)....
You can see the terrain layout on my map (desert, grassland etc.), its pretty accurate. I used the Karen Wynn Fonstad Atlas precipitation and climate map to get this.
A general rule of thumb:
* grassland is low-precipitation (spelled wrong of course), hot summer-cold winter terrain. Example: most of russia, except by rivers. Area around Rhun.
* Plains is washed away, high rainfall area (around rivers, mainland, coast etc. most of "fertile" terrain is plains but needs more "cultivation").

I am quite confused. First, I really like the map. Second (Aonghus), I didn't know that the Romans created the Bretons, or Saxons, or Gaels (and, of course the Angles from which the name England is taken). Third (Bibor), I believe you have grasslands and plains confused with one another. But I am a simple person who is often mystified at the greatness of craft and wisdom found here (no sarcasm intended) so I know it may be me who is wrong. But it is a great map. It just needs LEGO men.
