Courthouses seem to have been improved significantly in C3C 1.15!
I just created one in a town pretty far away and shields raised from 1/16 (before) to 6/16 (after). Never noticed such an increase in PTW, former betas of C3C.
If the other means have been maintained in the same way, I would feel quite fine with that. :egypt:

The courthouse effect has been increased from 5 to 10% in the 1.15 patch. It said so in the post they announced the new patch in.

It was Max. Corruption lowered to 90% IIRC

The only change to the Courthouse in v1.15 (1.13, actually) is that it now gives the city where it's built a maximum 80% corruption, compared to a maximum of 90% when there is no Courthouse.

Well, nevertheless it is quite astonishing. 1 from 16 means 6.25% effectiveness. 6 from 16 now means 37.5% effectiveness.
If we assume that the city had just 90% waste before, a courthouse should have reduced it to either 80% (90-10 in per cent) or to 81% (10% reduction of the 90% corruption). Either way, it would not have resulted in 6 shields afterwards.
Seems, that the courthouse does something on the distance factor as well, since other courthouses nearer to my capital are less effective.

The courthouse has always done something to distance corruption. It cuts distance corruption in half, to be precise. It also increases the OCN by 25% for that city.

Didn't know that, Thanks:)

Sometimes it's good to have a corruption specialist around :)

With that information it is clear that a courthouse is an absolute must have in a distant city and very worth to be rushed.

The Problem for me is, that this is not clear for the AI... They will still make lots of other stuff in their distant cities before considering to build a Courthouse :(

I didn't read this before and I try to read a lot of posts on corruption. Could you post a link to the thread where this was discovered?

Also, does the police station then reduce max corruption further down to 70% (as police stations and courthouses always had the same effects on corruption), and do the police specialists have an effect on max corruption.

Thanks in advance!

Does this means that I - in order to increase OCN - should build courthouses in my capital and the cities just around it which i usually never build courthouses in because the corruption is already low?

...and does Police Stations increase the OCN too?

They both increase the OCN by 25% for that city only. If city had rank 25 while OCN was 40, it will experience corruption as if rank 25 with an OCN-number of 50 for that city only.

@Roland

This means that it will not improve my overall empire - making courthouses and PS in cities with very low corruption in the first place.

Thanks.
