Here is an preview of the Vietnam War scenario.

The scenario starts in 1964, I haven't any month yet, but if someone knows a start month, I would like to have some feedbacks.

The civs are:

South-Vietnam with allies, leader: President Nixon
North-Vietnam, leader: President Ho Chi Minh
Cambodia, leader: ? ?
Thailand, leader: ? ?
China, leader: Chairman Mao
Laos, leader: ? ?

If someone knows any leaders to Cambodia,Thailand or Laos in the period 1964-1973 AD, please post!

Temporary I'm go to add eight units.

And the units are:

North Vietnamese Infantry
Viet Cong
Mig-15
F-86 Sabre
B-52 bomber
Modern Infantry
American GI
Heavy Artillery

Some ideas to other units, please post!
Or other ideas to this scenario, please post of course!:D

Damn misclick - meant to vote 'maybe', not 'no'.

Khmer leader could be Prince/King Sihanouk, or Lon Nol (dictator, more-or-less, '70-'75).

Considered making S Vietnam and America different civs in locked alliance? Just a thought.

I like the idea a lot !
For Cambodia, you could also, like for Vietnam, split it up in a Soutern, official part, locked with the US, leader Lon Nol, and the northern Communist uprizing: the Khmer Rouge under Pol Pot.
AK.
:goodjob:

Wow! People seem to be REALLY skeptical about this scenario... anyway, I have to say that it could be problematic since it wasn't what we might call a "traditional" war.

I'd say that you should use culture-flipping as a tool to simulate the real circumstances of the war.

Nice idea.

I'm go to think about it, but have you any links to the culture-flipp
or is it not a utility, I'm wondering.

Culture - flipping is already in the game (that is when a city goes to a more cultured civ). No need for a utility then but just allow it in the preferences, maybe increase the likeliness of such conversions and maybe create a revolutionary building with lots of culture to actually ease flipping towards the north.

It would seem that between 1962 - 1975, Laos was mainly a lawless "side-show" of the Vietnam war, in which all kinds of fractions supported by either Thailad, US, USSR, China, Vietnam constantly rivaled each other and there were so many coups d'etat that nobody really knows who was the leader at any given moment.
Anyway, the Pathet Lao communist rebels took hold of the country in 1975.

:)

I've been working on this scenario for a while now - check out the link.

Most of the work is done - just some cheese and mechanics to go - testing out the behaviour of guerilla units, versus armour, especially, and Civ interelations.

You might want to develop your own - but, if you're of a mind, you could mail me...

you can make the aircraft easier to intersept, because the vietnamese use a dual tactic by usitn both rader, and a patrol of jets to help intersept the bombers.

is there anyway to make aircraft intersept more than once per turn?
