As a lowly sheepherder named Genghis you always aspired to get more out of life. During your teen years you moved from land to land with your family trying to find a place that you could settle, a place that would allow your family to grow and prosper.

The recent passing of your father has left that responsibility to you. Just before he passed, he had saved enough money for your family to take a voyage to a land he heard was full of lush grasslands. Honoring your father, you decide to travel to his 'dream land', lay him to rest and start a better life for your family, the Khan family.

Upon arrival to the 'dream land', you see nothing for miles except flowing valleys of grasslands. Your skills as a sheepherder may help in finding the special terrains that are sometimes found in grasslands.

And this is where the adventure begins.

I guess this one will be a real challenge when playing without Hutfinder.
Thank you DoM :)

Starting with a blank map in Map Editor and drawing the visible terrain, you quickly find the Resource Seed and bands of specials. HutFinder is just a little quicker when you've got a hut at the start. Seems to have changed MP play too, and looks like Zenon really used it well in GOTM35.

Aside from the start, which has lots of food but little production, looks like there is only one other decent OCC location.

What does direct tech paths mean?

When you see SCENARIO on the CivScore (F9) page it means the setup was tweaked in a way that goes beyond a normal start (for example, DoM turned off all huts). This has the side effect of stopping the "hiding" of one third of the tech options each time you get a new list of techs to choose from. Normally it takes four rounds of discoveries before you can get to choose Monarchy on the fifth (with no starting techs), so there is a round when you cannot choose anything that is a direct prerequisite. But in Scenario mode you can go Alph-CodeLaws-CerBur-Monarchy without the off-path choice.

MultiPlayer (two or more humans).

then again, in a different context it could be Marco Polo or Manhattan Project....

Duke: I noticed that Warrior Code is in white, and the Trade Advisor screen says 22 turns to the next tech (before you even start). Does this mean WarCode was not a freebie starting tech, but you added it manually?

I noticed that the science cost went up for the first tech and figured it was a good offset to the high trade starting location I picked.

very good offset indeed :D
I think anyone is going to get a sloooow start.

There was a starting tech given that I didn't want the game to have, ...

And we all wonder what that tech might have been? :king: ?
