Peace Renegotiation deals

I was just looking at this option, and think it would be good to discuss (Oct, are you watching? )...

Peace Renegotiation Deals:

Babylon:
Babylon gives: War
We give: Math

In other words, no deal's possible. Babylon wants math for continued peace. (I think that's a danger sign right there).

Russia:
Russia gives: peace, contact with Germany, 11g
We give: peace

India:
India gives: ROP, Peace, HBR
We give: (ROP, Peace, 152g) OR (ROP, Peace, Mathematics)

Can I ask...Is Babylon mad at us or what?? Cause I thought I saw some threads that said that Baylon is kind of mad at us?? Is this true?? Now you are saying that if Babylon makes war we give them mathimatics???

Peace Renegotiation is this:

Go into the active trades, and select peace. Select "Renegotiate", and you'll see what they want. If you do that with Babylon, they won't accept UNLESS we give them math.

I just chose a more, dramatic wording.

And yes, I'm inclined to support the Russian and Indian deals.

I always forget about this option! Anyway, Russia seems like a no-brainer as does Babylon. India, I am not sure. What is our cost to just outright trade for HBR?

And the Babylon situation does not look good. We need to tread lightly with them.

I'm obviously inclined to support the Russian deal. As for India, I think this needs discussion and polling; I'm not sure whether this would be a good idea or not.

The Babylon situation is not good - the fact that they will not accept a peace treaty unless we add something to it means we should prepare to defend ourselves. It would certainly not be wise to refuse any demands they may make unless we believe we can win the resulting war. I did a bit more work around the trade, and they would give a bit more for peace and maths:
The Indians will also accept their deals without the ROP giving:
So comparing to CT's trades a ROP is worth 20 gold to the Indians.

If we trade Maths in both cases it will be worth less for the second trade and we’ll either get less gold from the Babylon deal if that’s second, or may have to add some gold to the India deal.

I would therefore go for CT’s Russian deal first, then India Peace+HBR for Maths (#I2a), then as we are selling Maths, sell it to Babylon for whatever we can get for it (currently 100 gold) to leave them with as little gold as possible.

HOWEVER if we do the Russian deal there will be another player in the game – the Germans and this may completely change the deals available. Can we do the Russian deal as a special Session then see the trades that that opens up?

I was thinking the same thing regarding the Rusian deal. It would be a good idea to do the Russian peace renegotiation in s special session rather than in a regular turnchat. Babylon is rather disturbing; hopefully they aren't planning an attack on us.

The Russian deal would be a good situation to take care in a special session. If there is agreement that we want to do this deal, I will schedule such a session. Hopefully there is consensus on this tonight so I can start the process tonight and then have the special session tomorrow night (I believe there has to be a 24 hour notice). This means we would only have about 24 hours to analyze the resulting information before the chat on Friday.

I'd also agree to a special trading session. (I was thinking that when I was looking at the trades).

I have no problem with starting the Special Session process. Now that we now about the Wheel, let's put them in motion and do these deals.

What's with this fear for the Babylonians ?? It'll take them ages to assemble a strong force and move through the jungle. If we get into a war with them (I absolutely hate caving in to their demands), we'll have more than sufficient time to build up some defences. But it wouldn't hurt us to sent 1 lone warrior south through the jungle to spot any Babylonians; war or not.

the Indian deals #I2 (a or b) are unchanged.

Babylon will give either peace and 94 gold (#B3a) or 110 gold (#B3b) for Maths.

Germany only has 11 gold and is short Maths (they have 6 cities + the capitol and we are weak compared to them!)

I think I would still do deal #I2a possibly followed by to Maths to Babylon for whatever we can get for it (the values shown above for #B3 will change once we trade Maths to India).
