Can anybody out there help??????

I’ve been through the forums looking for similar threads but have had no luck.

Problem – when playing C3C with a mate on the Internet I can host games but he can’t. When he tries to host we can see each other in the lobby, then go through to the staging window, but when he launches to go into the game setup menu my machine just says, “searching for player” and keeps counting down from 20.

As I’ve mentioned I can host no problem as both of us deactivate our firewalls before playing.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

i have the same problem, no firewall is activated, everyone can join the staging room but noone makes it to the next screen if i host

its kidna gay, that the search button is deactivated

I've got the exact same problem, but i cant host or join! someone needs to come up with a solution to this quick!

btw, i can host now, i solved the problem.

from the last LAN i still had a network ip starting with 192. , i clicked on "get ip automatically" or something like this and i could host games suddenly. :D

List about things you should check:

1. Firewall ports
2. Routers configuration
3. AOL-users can't host, so if you are using it change your internet operator
4. DX-version. We have find out that some ppl can't host with dx 9.* but they can host with 8.2. So uninstall new DX and get older one.

i JUST solved this

The Problem is connected to the number of Networkcards you got in your computer.

In my case everybody that couldn´t host a game had internet connection sharing (aka 2 or more networkcards) installed.

That´s my guess here too, everybody of you complaining about this problem should have (if i m right) more then 1 networkcards installed? Right? Good.

In that case just deactivate all networkcards not used to play the game. So you should end up with just 1 active networkcard (probably for ur dsl connection).

I hope this is correct, right and will help. Pls gimme responses.
