Fantasy Unit Requests

These are units I could use for my Master of Myrror mod. They are not absolutely needed, but they would help make the mod much better. Civ colors are appreciated although in some cases (Unicorn) they are practically impossible to implement. I can provide pictures, but Id like to give the possible takers free hands.

Stag Beetle
Fire breathing giant beetle with a rider (or without one) There are some free beetle models here, but Im still waiting for an answer from the creator whether they can be used for this purpose (apparently he isn't going to reply as it has been several months now).

Dragon Turtle
Fire breathing giant turtle. Could be either land or water unit (Master of Magic's dragon turtle was both, but that's not possible with Civ3)

Edit: aaglo did the naval version and Kinbot has the land version on his list.

Leviathan
A sea monster. As we already have a sea serpent, I would prefer this as a whale like monster. Something in the style of Magic The Gathering Leviathan. If given more detail and a funkier design, here's a nice picture.

Edit: Kinboat may do one at some point.

Pegasi Cavalry
Pegasus (white horse with wings) with a rider.

Werewolf

Fly I suppose. It has pretty small wings though. I don't know if that can be helped.

I guess it could walk around too. Evolution may have made it so fat that it can't fly anymore. :lol:

I tried to make something, but the model isnt good, ie. I can't really make him fly with those wings (they're small but thick and hardly movable)

What if you transplant the bat wings from that flying ship?

Kill one flying thing with two stones, or something...

I don't know if it will be finished, but I need to know if it's ok before I start animating. I want to try to make him ground based, with "static" (no wing flapping) flight animation. Esp. the size is in question - I think it's too big when compared to dragon or even worse small dragons, which he will fight with, but if I make him smaller, there will be even less details.

Woohoo!

About the size. I personally feel that the rider brings things to perspective. Dragon units will still in my eyes seem much larger as I imagine what size a rider on their backs would look like. So it's a matter of relative perspectives. I'd say keep the current size, but I'm content with any changes you want to it.

BTW, how much work a walking animaton for run would be? I actually liked the thought of a wyvern that has lost its ability to fly over hundreds of years. :lol:

If it's too much work, don't worry about it. I can get over my idea of an ostrich-wyvern.

Edit: in other news, I added Pegasi Cavalry to the list.

Idea for a movement:
- Perhaps that thing cannot fly, but it could glide. It could jump and glide and land (in the run animation) - very much like the griffin-animation (IIRC). If that's not too complex animation

I second the motion on the floor and hope somebody can take these up. Anything is possible in Mystara so any of these could be usable for my mod as well. In case anyone was wondering how many folks would use their creation. The Pegasi Cavalry would be very useful and the Dragon Turtle.

I really hate doing this but several of those proposals have struck my fancy... I can't say they'll get done soon (or maybe ever as a number of projects have been dropped by the roadside in the past few years) but I'd like to be able to make a Dragon Turtle (one of them sunk my boat

), and maybe a Leviathan. And I suppose a werewolf shouldn't be too hard after making my Gnolls...
