Hello and welcome to SuBI1. This SG deals specifically with naval supremacy. The aim of this SG is to control the oceans. All opponents in this game have the seafaring trait. We however, do not, giving them an advantage in movement. At all times during this game, our navy must consist of at least 1/3(or 1/4, open to debate) of our armed forces(For every 2(or 3) land units, we must have 1 naval unit). In addition, we must have a larger navy than all other nations. If a tech that deals with sea based units and/or improvments and wonders is available, we must begin research on it before anything else.

The civ we choose can't have the seafaring trait. We have to choose a civ without it. Only the AI are using seafaring civs.

Are there any other civs that you would like to play as?

I'd be up for this one. Regent or Monarchy is fine with me.

(living in Melbourne, Australia but originally from Reading!)

I'd be interested in giving this a shot. Interesting concept.

I think we need a Civ that is normally not thought of as ocean going. Maybe we should show the world our might by presenting a seafaring fleet of floating elephants. Bearing curry of course. The mighty Indians. Yeah, that's it. :crazyeye:

As for seafaring wonders, do we only prioritize techs which allow these wonders, or must we build them if available? It seems to go without saying that by end game, we should have all of these wonders in our control.

I'll play either regent or monarch.

If a tech offering anything seafaring is available for research, then it is mandatory to research it, no matter what.

Also, I am already playing a SG with the Indians, and I really don't want to play another one.

Hi all, I would like to join.

This is my first SG, but
I've won many games on Monarchy on my own.
But I'm still learning, and I believe that I can learn more by
playing a SG.

:D

If anyone has to drop out, or you want a sixth player, I'm in :).

EDIT: The sea concept of this seems sort of like what I was going for in GGF1, but slightly more extreme, which would make a good game :).

The last --- is the last spot for a player. So Gogf, you can join. Now we just need to decide on a civ and difficulty level.

Personally I wouldn't mind playing this with Korea or the Ottomans.

Gogf, I don't think that we will be shifting our capital that early in the game :p. With the Koreans, we start with Alphabet, which allows us to build Curraghs at the start.

Yeah, Korean sounds great!
In fact, right now I'm working on this project
which the instructor is a Korean

With the combined traits of scientific and commercial,
we can research techs faster than most other civilizations.

Now we just have to wait to see what the other people think. Also what difficulty level would you prefer, Regent or Monarch?

Since that I can beat monarchy on my own, and that we're together in this. I think it's easier on SG, because we can share our thoughts and strategies.

I say we should go with Monarchy.

I could go with monarch, if emough people are willing to.
