I tried to read throught the "Editor Wishlist" thread, and noted the most demanded and realistic options people asked for.
I wanted to make a poll in this thread to see what options most people want to have first, maybe this could be a good thing to then send to Firaxis for them to know what to work on first....
I hope you will all vote, since it only is representative if at least 100 users vote...
I know most of us would just say we want ALL of these, I also want them all, but it has to start somewhere....

hard to choose between 'no raze' 'no pollution' and 'railroad limits', chose railroad limits though.

Half of these options could make my modding experience 100 times better and easier. I do hope they listen to this poll.

Definitely automatic entries to PediaIcons and Civilopedia. Almost all of the problems are from this, and if they would just include the civilopedia in the editor so we could write entries there, it would be MUCH easier.

IMHO this is the last, least needed feature, because it adds absolutely nothing except saving a bit of modders' time. And there are no problems, if you do it right, while you can't do anything about things simply unavailable, like editing diplomatic relations, adding new cultures, eras and so on.

Agree with E.D. If all modders tested their units with a test scenario that has mod's all units, there would be a lot less "Missing entry" problems for people. Adding the entries isn't really that much work that I'd trade new editor options for it.

IMO Diplomacy and Railroads are the important ones here. Had to choose one so I picked railroads.

One thing that just struck me: Why there isn't a "test pediaentries" option somewhere? A mod could be loaded in this mode and it would go through all units, improvements, wonder splashes, techs and see if there are entries and do they point to an existing file. With graphics, it would be nice if it tested the functionality of those graphics (for example, forgetting a wonder splash in RGB/16.7 million colors crashes the game to desktop without any warning.)

mrtn, I'll catapult you one then :D But you have to eat it while it's still flying (oh what am I saying).

Back to the topic:

I guess turning off raizing the cities is the most essential for many of the modmakers out here. Railroads might be another one, sure, but it's irritating to have the AI raze cities in relatively important but packed-with-cities sorts of locations.

One example is Europe in many of the conquests. Europe, being a giant in military, industry, etc, is very small in land mass (considering how terrain is treated in C3C, with the special landmark tiles and all, it's not that big of a deal anymore).

But it's just so annoying to have, say, Paris being burned to ground, Berlin to be wiped out, Madrid being, ugh, I'm running out of vocabulary here :)

not bad, 19 votes 'till now...
here are the results so you can vote accordingly... they actually quite surprise me....
6 votes for automatic entries to .txt files
5 votes for railroad movement limits
4 votes for a good diplomacy Editor
2 votes for turn off raze city option
and 1 vote for New terrain, and Copy paste....

I hope a lot of people will vote on this, since only then would it be representative.... I promise I will get this to Firaxis if more than 100 people vote...

BTW: I think we should make a it a live videofeed when you eat that cow....

I also had a hard time choosing,.... I also just want most of them right now...

The reason I posted the results (and will go on posting them every 15-20 votes, is that, since they're is no multiple vote polls available, one might choose differently if he sees the second things he wants most is far behind in the post...

I don't eat flying cows. (Hm, does this make me a flying Indian? )
I'd prefer the railroads. This way you could, for example, make the movement along normal roads just one, and put the movement bonus on the "rail"road, like the roman roads e g.

I really thinks cows are be better for your health.

Diplomacy editor out of those options. Adding eras and culture groups would be my write-in choice.

Adding Eras and culture groups is something I forgot, ... sorry guys.... I'll keep it in mind and will make a complete list at the End of the options people are asking for, with all the options from the poll that got votes, and everything that got mentioned a few times...

You should perhaps add "Add Era" and "Add Culture Group"

Since Add Era isn't going to happen, it would be a waste of a vote.

I voted for a good diplomacy editor. I have some ideas for one, if anyone is interested :mischief:
