over to MFCamillus patched to v1.20

I thiink we all need to stop and discuss the v1.2 upgrade before anyone installs the patch.

Since the V1.2 upgrade is not compatible backwards it has to be done by everyone, or not at all.

I know that I have a few other games that I am participating in and so have to coordinate there also. So either we all move to 1.2 or we stay on 1.15 which is what the game was published as.

Eliit - your thread and game.

I guess if someone is alredy upgraded to 1.20 , then we all have to do so in order to load the game. There's also some PBEM fixes in that patch and I believe the whole PBEM world will upgrade soon, so must we.

I had to patch up to play my other PBEMs. I don't have two hard drives so I can only run one version and that will be v1.20--the latest version. It only takes a few minutes to do and the changes are listed at the site--they seem minor but it is best to know what they are. Go for the download here

Hi everyone,

Can we decide on a version then as 1.22 is out now?

1.22 fails to load 1.20 saves, so please do not upgrade to 1.22!
We'll stay with 1.20 until Firaxis makes another patch, patching previous patches

Hopefully the other game I am involved in will follow suit and patch. Otherwise I'll be stuck deciding on which game to drop. :(

If they do patch and I'm able to play we should make sure all parties involved can patch in the future before applying more patches.

~just my two cents.

I believe its possible to maintain several versions at the same time in your computer. Try this: (I'm quoting heihojin)

It is relatively simple to maintain two distinct installations of Conquests. If you haven't yet upgraded, and are still using v1.15 Beta:
1. Rename the Civilization III\Conquests folder to "Conquests v1.15 Beta" or something like that.
2. Uninstall Conquests with "Add/Remove Programs" from your Control Panel.
3. Reinstall Conquests to the default folder.
4. Install the patches for both v1.20

If you have already installed the v1.20 or v1.22 patches, you can follow the above steps to rename your Conquests folder to "Conquests v1.22", uninstall, reinstall, and then install the v1.15 Beta patch. Thankfully, all three patches can still be found at http://www.civfanatics.com/civ3patches.shtml .

If you have not upgraded yet. It is also possible to just copy the Conquests folder (with all of the program files) to a different location. Thus with a Conquests folder under CivIII and a Conquests folder under My Docs, you have two locations. Upgrade one to v1.2 and the other stays v1.15.

Due to disparities in the games that I am playing I am operating under this type of a dual install. You just have to remember which game is under which version.

Turn passed on to portuga
