It's 610 AD and it has been noted in the Tech Trade discussion thread that Renegotiating Peace can save us gold in our tech deals:

I'd like to also point out that renegotiating peace is possible with all Group A civs. I'm not going to calculate it's total effect, I just want to mention that:
Germany - Renegotiating drops the Engineering price by 123 gold to 652 gold.
India - Has no Engineering, but they give all their gold (13) for a renegotiated peace treaty.
Russia - Renegotiating drops the Engineering price by 222 gold to 532 gold.
Babylon - Renegotiating drops the Engineering price by 209 gold to 572 gold.
Greece - Has no Engineering, but they give all their gold (2) for a renegotiated peace treaty.
Egypt - Renegotiating drops the Engineering price by 101 gold to 632 gold.
Renegotiating Peace would give us 20 turns during which we can't go to war with that Civ without destroying our reputation. It also gives us 20 turns during which we can build up our Infrastructure and Military.

So do we want to include Peace Renegotiation in these Tech deals, do we want to Renegotiate Peace anyway, or is it preferrable not to?

If at all, I would agree to renegotiate peace w Russia as part of c) in my trading suggestion. But only if it gives us 100+ gold extra, which I doubt.

What about Persia, and the new civs we just met?

Summary of all the Civs - what they'll pay for a straight Peace Renegotiation (this is included in the Foreign Affairs Summary in the Term 3 Foreign Office thread)

Code:
Russia 4g + WM (all their gold)
Babylon 11g + WM (all their gold)
India 13g + WM (all their gold)
Germany WM (they have no gold)
Greece 2g + WM (all their gold)
Egypt 1g + WM (all their gold)
Persia WE PAY
Aztec 16g (they wont throw in a WM)
Zulu 4g + WM (all their gold)
Iroquois 12g + WM (all their gold)

Those gains for us in the deals are too small. We can renegotiate at any given time, IF we don't renegotiate now. If we do; we won't be able to for the next 20 turns. I suggest we'll wait with doing that until the civs get more gold for us to renegotiate with.

Except of course the renegotiating for cheaper rates on techs.

It seems that it may only be worth it in the case of the trading for techs.
