War with Egypt?

Should we have war with Egypt and re-take all of audiac?

It is not clear that Egypt really has a "stranglehold," nor that the little colonies are even that threatening. As for whether they are "invading" Audiac, all I can say is what right do we have to claim land that we did not settle? We never sent our people beyond the large desert in the north, why should we send soldiers now? Anyway, if we do have some grudge with Egypt then I say only capture Buto, do it quick, make peace afterwards and don't start this till next TC when it has had a chance to soak in with the voting public.

Also, please take notice that such an act will probably anger Greece, Germany and Russia (some of Egypts closer allies), two of which could actually be a threat to us.

We peobably will not be ready this TC. This is calling for preperation for war and an eventual one when we are ready. I said before that may come next term. It can also come during this TC.

Yes, I beleve that 20-30 Knights can take on about 5 cities. I would produce about 20 more knights just incase (To bring the total to 40-50 Knights)

but really, is it a war of necessity? there's no real need. sure, a few desert colonise, but unless they happen to hae oil it's nothing to go to war over (no pun intened)

Every city we have counts so even if thiers no resources or such a city is a city.

What i think we should do is biuld up some more knights, take the settlements to the north, bribe one of egypts nieghbors into a MA agiasnt them then stage an amphibious ivasion and take a few citeies thier before wiating for the MA to expire then sue for peace. But if this isn't possible then i think we could use our forces better on one of our larger nieghbors.

If we just take the settlements i think we would need 15 knights depending on what defenders are in those cities.

How the war should be handled is really up to the elected representative officials that normally control those things, not just a mass vote, although a few people have thrown up their plans for war once they are elected.

I think we are ready. Even if they're just "desert colonies", there could be salpeter there. Even though we have 9 knights, we can build more, and hopefully, some of the cities in my future "Core Military Cities" plan can start churning out knights. We're in no posistion anyway to attack the Egyptian homeland. Why? We have no nearby galleys!

There's also wines up north, and if we take it, we have something to trade to Egypt.

This is going to be a limited war, which I can tell seems foreign to the demogame... We might even sign a peace treaty on turn 3 or 4 after starting the war in the preturn. I think this is gonna be quick and painless. The AI isn't the best in naval landings, and we have more than enough knights there to take care of 2 units per turn. (first of which will probably be warriors and archers).
