(err, well, they're horses...) Since it's still term 3, I'm going to post a suggestion for the warplan against Egypt. (It'll be official if I'm elected).

Plan 1 - "Egyptian War"

1. Only attack after all trades are complete.
2. Select the Vet knight in Internal. Move it 1 North, then 1 North-East, and 1 North (follow the graphic shown). Attack the city with the knight. If the knight loses, and the unit is redlined (no other units in the city), use a regular knight. If there's more, healty units, use vet knights. Only move one knight at a time.
3. Select a vet knight from Internal. Move it one north, then west to attack Pithom. Use the same routine as above. If we take both cities, put more knights in Buto for riot control. Also, starve both cities, or, have them build/rush workers.
4. By Arthribis, select the vet knight to the SW of the city, and move one east, and attack. Do so with the vet knight behind the small stack if the first knight doesn't win. Follow that by the reg knight. This city will most likely autoraze. So, keep the 3 knights (for now) on the hills for "galley duty". (1 on each tile, next to each other). This is so that no one settles there again.

This should be all for the Egyptian War, as it's going to be very limited. Our objective will have been met.

Thanks for putting the plan up :)

Its a good war plan, and it was in some form going to be the war plan I was going to create. I fully support this plan that will come in Term 4

I was thinking of something simmiler to this plan, though I did not have any intentions on capturing Atnribis and Pithom. Pithom would reduce to a size one city if a defending unit is defeated. Atnribis is a size one city and once captured, will be raized.

I'd still attack it. It's a blight in our landscape. :) Also, it drops when you take the city, not defeat a spear.

Pithom is size 2 and will drop to size 1 when conquered. Perfect.

Buto is size 5, will drop to size 4. And we should starve it to size 1 to avoid any flip risk und future unrest. Since it has flood plains, it is easy to grow again afterwards.

And while we are at with Egypt, I strongly suggest to found a city SW of the fish, hurrying a temple or library after 1 turn. This way we completely control as much area as possible. (The old red site is obsolete once we capture Buto!)

A simple and effective plan. But I still have some remarks.
1- Cabaret Voltaire is in the danger area, defended by a warrior. What are the backup-plans in case the Egyptians strike at CV (or a different city).
2- Are there backup units for especially Athribis in case the complete attack force is redlined, fleeing or dead ? If so: where are they and what are their instructions ?
3- Will defensive units join the attack groups (or close behind) for city-defense and counterattack-repulsion ?

3 (..)Also, starve both cities, or, have them build/rush workers.
Although a wise tactic, I don't think the Military department is in control of the workers, buildqueues or tile-allocation.

The Egyptian cities should fall on the first turn. I will have one knight fortify in that city. I will also talk to IA about the workers (rushing, or otherwise).

Moving to Pithom (via the unroaded tile) takes up all movement points. Will the tile be roaded prior to the attack ?

<edit> It looks unroaded to me, but I'm not sure; the red 'road-to-victory' is located exactly over the location the road would be <endedit>

Why is Pithom a priority? We have nothing to gain from it, but just to subjegate a city? I hardly find that profitable. I don't see Pithom every growing much more than its current size (since it is surrounded by desert) and we shouldn't just capture cities because we have some magical, mystical claim to the continent.

 WHAT?! My God man! Is that ethical? If you build enough city works, then the citizens of Buto will be happy to be with us. If you are really concerned with "purifying" Buto, then atleast put the citizenship up as Workers and repopulate it. This sort of unethical behaviour, however, will no doubt keep you from being elected to any position.

I personally would like to see something more drawn-out, like bringing egypts neighbor into the war with an MA and sue for peace as soon as the MA expires. But the danger with this is the chnace of an MA being signed agianst us.

I live in CV so you'd better put something better put somthing better then a warrior in thier!!

Are you going to have the military planners posistion Sarevok had? if you do then i'd link to ask if i can be one.

The Egyptian War is generally a limited one. We only have 2 galleys, and they're in another island/continent, seperated by an ocean. We have no galleys to even attack England yet (the demogame, by nature, seems to have an aversion to workers and naval units... almost like the AI sometimes. :s).

Amusing he's entering his second term in an office after only being in the Demogame since Term 2.

Let's try to keep the (1st) Egyptian War a limited one. I say '1st' because I am sure we will meet them again - but before then we will need to secure greater parts of our home continent.

So, its Egypt now/asap, then Russia/Babs is it? That's feasible for sure. After that we can start to think more intercontinentally.

Right. I already asked the FA to make instructions to check for peace after a few turns of war. We have no available galleys, and it would take awhile to mount an invasion even if we wanted to.

CT - I saw your post in the FA thread and will do.

We may need to consider what we will do if the Babylonians declare war on us - they have 2 units in Mure territory and are at Remove or War status. I feel that if we demand they leave they will declare war. I will obviously include in my instructions to stop the chat if they do so.

Right. I saw those (wished Zorven said something, and if there were more troops than that).

If those were the first troops to pass, then it looks bad, but if there were more, they might be headed else where. I'd like the governor who controls that city (who?) to rush a barracks there, and upgrade the spear, also, build another one, too, and city walls.

As requested, here are the proposed FA Instructions for the coming turnchat to start and potentially finish the Egyptian War:

War Declarations:
  • After building the Embassies and carrying out the Trades, please declare War on Egypt.
  • If war is declared on us by another Civ, please stop the chat so that we can decide what to do in the forums.
Peace Treaties:
  • As soon as the Egyptian cities on our home continent have been taken, please check to see if Egypt will talk to us.
Please then check each turn, and if they will talk and offer terms of equality and better, stop the chat so we can discuss the Peace Terms in the forums.
  • If asked to renegotiate peace by a Civ other than Egypt, please do so.

I have left the equality or better terms that we used against Babylon in as I would guess we wouldn't want to pay for peace having started the war ourselves. Obviously we can revise this if necessary for the following chat.

Comments please, as the next chat is now scheduled for Saturday, so if a poll is needed for this I will have to start it Friday.

Looks good.
