Why, Atari, you changed the unit folder names in Civ3? That was really stupid. For example "Warrior" folder is named "Krieger". The unit flc-files themself are still named in english ("warrior"), only the folder was'nt. The only thing this makes sure, is making Civ3 crashing down, when it's looking in english scenarios for "Warrior", becouse there is not such folder.

This is, why most of the german version player own a "double Art" installation: one has folder with german unit names and the other has unit folder with exactly the same units files but the folders are named in english.

I also don't like the bad translation/double language thing in C3C.

So, Atari and/or Firaxis, please make sure, the different language versions of Civ4 will be much more compatible and the translation will be really good. Thank you.

I'll bump this one, because I see this problem occasionally.

IMHO, it should be fairly easy to solve. I realise that the whole Civ model is changing, but in the current system it could have been as simple as including a 'DisplayName' flag in the .ini file for each unit. The files could ahve the english names, and the 'DisplayName flag could be used to set the local language name used. :)

I think a file "units.txt" should be a better idea. There's a lot of .txt files with translations. Why doesn't exist any file for units and buildings?

Of course, mods should have their own files, using the same order in editor.
