Set of Rules

This set will evolve to include answers to the questions you might ask.

If you want to participate in this contest, you must abide by the following rules, understand how the contest work and what you need to participate.

Requirements

- You must have Civ3 (standard or Gold Edition) and Conquests (C3C) with the patch 1.22. The scenario file (a modified one so that Japan starts first) will be provided.

- You must provide the moderator (me :) ) with a usable e-mail (send it to me by PM).

- You must be a member of CFC and preferably a real one with at least 50 posts.

- You promise to always reply to the moderator or to the other player once contacted.

- You must be easy to contact by e-mail and have enough free time and not too many "trips" to do so that you can try to do an average of 7 turns a week (if you can do it and leave during the week-end, but sorted things out with your partner, then it is fine). If you can do more it is better.

- You understand that you need to play two PBEM games at the same time (one as Japan, the other as the Allies).

- You agree that if you were to fail to reply or give any news for more than 72 hours, you will be considered as the "loser" of the competition. The same way if your team does not finish the game before the closing date.

Winning

- Once the two games (one as Japan, the other as Allies) have been played, the winner of the pair is either the one who won both games, or the one with the highest score when both scores are added. Then you play with a player who won another round too.

- At the last turn, there will be only two players left and the winner will be called the Contest Hero !

- You understand that you only win glory, my friend, simply glory !

Well, I volunteer, of course! :D
But you need specify the version of CFC in your rules, and what version of the scenario? The default multi-player version of the scenario allows the Allies to move on the first turn. This, combined with the obvious reasearch cooperation with all 4 allies controlled by the same person gives the Allies too much of an advantage. Some people had made some Mods, but there have been reported side affects such as not being able to move on turn 2 and some game crashes. Also...should the Allies be allowed to conscript on turn 1?

Good points.

About the scenario, yep it will be slightly modded by me so that Japan plays first without having the skip first turn syndrom.

I would be but have too many games running at the moment, if you do something like this again I may be able to partake.

I wish you luck in filling these positions, have you tried posting at Apolyton with a link to here ? there is a vibrant PBEM community there !
